Yeah I don't think I died to LRM's yesterday specifically.
Took some damage of course. But I know how to break locks, spread damage with jets/movement and stay near my ECM/AMS.
And mind you, I had JUST purchased the Wolverine I used to test (no skills unlocked, had 4 by the end of the night) and no AMS loaded, because I was being saucey.

Ouch. Yeah, laptops aren't generally good for gaming. Even the so-called "gaming laptops" with discrete GPUs tend to run far too hot (ever seen a desk catch fire because the laptop sitting on it had a bad heatsink and was in critical meltdown mode? I have!).
In your case, your "dual core" processor isn't actually dual core, and what passes for a GPU wouldn't have been terribly impressive seven years ago, let alone today.
These days, I'd start with an Asus Z87-A wrapped around an i5-4670K, 8gb Crucial RAM and a GTX 760; season to taste. That'll get you a solid and reasonably future-proof gaming rig for about a grand, depending on how big you want the monitor and how glowy you want the case.

Thank you for the advice Stray. I've found what I kinda want and can afford to get on Newegg... but I hit a real life complication or it'd been shipped already. It's got an AMD 8320 Octocore, The motherboard socket would be upgradable for a while, 8GB RAM and a Radeon 7850 graphics card with a 1 TB Hard drive. It's in the budget, but now suddenly, that budget is possibly spoken for. RAARRRRRRGH! I'll know more next week, and if that computer is there and the money's still available... DING! Mine.

That 39% isn't your old archived stats...that's from last night. Or it's your stats after they split off Artemis from regular LRMs (which was only for a short period of time).
If that was your archived Artemis LRM15 stats, what were your regular LRM15 archived numbers looking like?

Yeah I know... I REALLY read your post only after I posted those

How do you feel about LRMs now, post patch? Having that stupid XL trial Stalker was a big mistake by PGI...of course, they probably wanted that outrage on the forums. Only reason I can think for their actions. Either that, or they're INCREDIBLY short sighted (like legally blind short sighted).

I have noticed a little difference with the time to impact. It has decreased my accuracy a bit. But thankfully people haven't adjusted yet. So my damage totals and kills are still up there. Give it time, they'll get with the new program, and be able to thwart me again. I still maintain they're not fast enough. 200m/s is the way to go to get them on the competative level. Then fix/buff brawling.
