Group queue early EU time.
I dunno what it is, but me and me friend seem to get all the weirdos, the don't cares and the useless. People this morning just seem to not care at all, don't even TRY to win.
We kept getting people making strange noises in chat.
guys screaming (at me mostly) because we didn't immediately do as they wanted, even though what they wanted was ludicrously stupid.
Had one obnoxious person who was streaming try to name and shame me, because he screamed at me in a previous match. He couldn't see from where he was what was going on. I tried to explain, but no he was right.
One person kept verbally harssing me to charge in under crimson vs loads of heavies and assaults in my skill-less hunchie IIc. Which was armed with a heavy laser and gauss rifle...
These three group queue sessions have been the least fun I've had since closed beta.

When you get grouped with these kind of guys, I find it helps to make a psychological game out of it for yourself. What kind exactly, well that's on you to come up with a mentally sadistic means to redirect that frustration .

Also, for the guys who are streaming, particularly the obnoxious ones, ask the streamer a "no-win" question in which he looks like a bad guy no matter how he answers. That trick has helped me quiet down so many people in an extremely wide range of intellect.

The thing is, it stood out as so weird! I usually have ok games in FW even if we are pugs vs premade.I even get some kind of teamwork in solo queue. But group queue is something else....it's just full of maladjusted people. I've never seen such bad people in this game before, it was game after game after game.
Most of the time, it seemed as if they just didn't care about what was in front of them, like they were going through the motions. It was startling to be honest.
Maybe it was the time of day, but it'd have only been midnight eastern so....

What sort of 'tactical decision' is pushing through the centre valley in Frozen City Assault? Especially when the initial skirmish hasn't whittled down enemy armour just yet to make the opposing team timid?

Throw in a NARC raven on the other side and a couple of LRM MDDs and it's gg.

Seriously. Why do I even bother trying to provide overwatch for these dumbsh*ts?

Antiwhine: When you're playing a 6 HML kitfox, and a 6 UAC2 dire with an open CT thinks that he can facetank you at close range.

it's a new tactic- go backwards so fast that you warp around to the other side of the map and can attack them from behind. however the "feature" is currently buggy but should be working properly as soon as "death blossom": becomes active for urbies.

people keep trying it because they're afraid they missed the announcement that it's now working.

When your driving your guerrilla warfare centurion, painted in Tiger camo with nothing but a snub nose PPC and an AC10 and you hunt out a lone lrm boat hiding at the back of the enemy team expecting to find a stalker or awesome or something like that and you crest the hill to see an Anihalator. Yes an Anihalator sat back there lobbing LRMs with only 4xersl and a tag as backup.

Although It was beautiful watching him panic as I began to under run his desperate lrm lobbing, charging straight at him till I closed enough that there was almost nothing he could do about it. Something refreshing about a 50 tonner mercilessly killing a mech that should be more than twice as powerful as it.

Okay, they really try to push base over E7, we don't really ambush them, we just happen to be around and move wiser, the GREAT LEADER who issued commands at start dies mid-game and promptly disconnects, another one dies and complains "ppl can't play together", and in the end we win, just so.
Would have been a nice match.

Both a whine and a good thing.

First off, why the hell are Kintaros so... Unloved. I mean, it's not as bad as the Wolverine, but if just the lone Kintaro-who is calling for help-is getting dogpiled on by half the enemy team, something's wrong. It was problably my fault, but it's still pretty annoying.

On the bright side, I had one of those matches that reminded me why I played this game. Dropping into an Arctic Peaks match, I surprised a Blackjack pilot by shattering his ST and killing him instantly... Then moving on to jumpjet off the highest point of the center mountain, right in front of a Hunchback IIC mounting a similar build (I was in a 4X SRM6A+LPL+2MPL Huntsman, he was in a 4X SRM-6A+2ERML Hunchie) in near-solo combat. Only downside was a lag thing where my LPL's full burn somehow did nothing to a Warhammer who had a cherry red CT, and did no damage (I was point blank and he was shut down.).

Kintaros used to have a really bad reputation back when Clan mechs weren't around. I'm talking about the sort of reputation that an all-LRM Awesome has - bad hitboxes, LRM boating useless trash mechs. The reputation stuck, even if the 'mech itself got quirked up to at least being serviceable.

Just had a match where our Charlie Lance failed to break 400 damage. Total. They didn't even break 300 combined damage as a lance.

Why.

A lot of Charlie lance pilots only pilot fatmechs because they feel safer behind bazillions of points of armor. This also makes a large number of them very cowardly, as losing the smallest amount of armor is considered bad. It isn't bad to trade 60 points of damage taken for upwards of 400 by sustained dakka, but most of them don't consider this...

And seeing as MWO's match scoring heavily rewards damage done, it naturally causes bigger mechs to gravitate upwards faster than lighter mechs, purely on a damage potential basis. This is why most of the time, you're more likely to find incompetent pilots in bigger mechs than you do in lighter ones. It's both more forgiving and more likely to give you better rewards.
