ok mechwarriors not a whine but the best ending of a game i have had in forever.

end of match 2 mechs left an Annihilator and a Locust (i am dead was playing a griffin but that is another story)

Now the Annihilator has no arms and the Locust is taking advantage of the in your crotch position....

BTW if you are offended by cussing and the F Bomb don't watch. You have been warned...

Any time an event requires "Kills" of any sort...I swear to GOD that even what small semblance of strategic play we can hope to scrape together goes right out the window.

And Friendly Fire seems to go through the roof as well.

Doesn't help that tonight I'm just "off", which further compounds all of the above.

Glad it wasn't me. I have not team killed anyone in a while. Came close the other day. A medium retreated right through where I was trying to play a rear guard action. They got an CERPPC and a bunch of CAC2S from me.

I L O V E PGIs contests Period!!!! What I hate is when they involve Mechs or Omnimechs I currently do not have. Ex Panther,Warhawk,Timberwolf,etc. The majority of this contest I will not finish that is assuming I can get 13 more Kill Most Damage Dones.

I try to get KMDDs and end up doubling my Kill Assists instead. UGH!!!!

for whatever reason when I need kmdds I never seem to get them so after a couple days trying in my jenner I gave up and went to the griffin. played a couple matches then said 'screw these light swarms" took out my srms and loaded up streaks. first match 4 kmdds. done in 4 matches matches.

then went to the catapults, tried my ac10 quad MPL K2 for a half dozen matches- got kills, no kmdds. brought out butterbee with quad srms and 2 ML for a half dozen matches, got some kills, couple 400+ damage matches- 0 kmdds. said "screw it, bring forth the cheese!" quad streak 6s and 2 MLs. 4 matches later I had 10 kmdds and my first 900+ and 1000+ damage matches.

eventually went back to jenners and managed to scrape out my kmdds with an oxide.

my whine- why did it take me all these years to try this?

PS- actually had a fun conquest match on alpine though a little while ago. we were up on kills, down on caps 300-500 or so with a 3 cap in our favor. I actually got 4 kills- only 1 was a light and 3 kmdds. at 11-8 (they had an assassin left) I announce i'm going to go flip gamma after helping flip kappa, since that always seems to be the thing that kills you on caps. of course at 74kph it takes a while from kappa. assassin trying to flip other points while the rest of the team (another cat, mauler and some medium) try to chase him.

we get a 4 cap, then assassin flipped something. guy on comms trying to get everyone to cap. someone flips it back, assassin flips something else now it's 600-710 ish. guy on comms is ready to give up when I finally reach gamma. guy on comms is going nuts "OMG someone actually went gamma! you're awesome! we might do this!" tickets racing to the end. I flip gamma and it's around 720-740. guy on comms now thinks we're not going to make it. 740-745. final score 750-747 us. guy on comms starts celebrating. one of the rare "GG close" that actually was a "gg close"

So I done the shadow cat challenge for event. It makes my stats worse after 10 games loses in a row with my shadow cat. Because I suck playing shadow cat and I tried every viable build and all doesn't work. I have thinking to sell it and replace with Grasshopper, I think it would be better mech and improve my stats, I hope.

Try altering your build; I find ATMs to be highly effective at scoring KMDDs, so I suggest trying a build something like this.

My stats should have improved as I did well over the three day period I was able to play. Unfortunately, not well enough I missed KMDDs by 3 in my WHK-C. I bought a Griffin 2N that I did not have C-Bills to outfit. Too bad Kills did not count as well as KMDDs.

Stay away from Vegas. Did well over the three days I played missed KMDDs by 3 in my WHK-C, too bad Kills did not count as well. Recieved 2 Kills and 2 KMDDs in the same game. Did not make enough to outfit my new Griffin 2N.

No, not damage farming. You leg assaults in lights so that you can stay on their back and they can't maneuver to get you.

Then you damage farm them.

Like others have been saying I've had a couple of nights of **** games, including being one shotted in my catapult not once, or twice but three times! Just about to go sod it this game really is trash then have one last go in my cat C4 with four lrm10's and two medium lasers.

Then get five kills, 3kmdd and 853 damage...........ffs.

I need 3 more KMDD in my Warhawk-C,6 more in my Orion llC Skoll,and 6 more in my Catapults. I still don't have my Griffin 2N outfitted.

Holy hell, what a slog!

But I did it, even though it took all of my discipline and willpower to complete.

Finished Orion IIC at 1:30 this morning, and done!

I think the ones that proved most challenging in my opinion were hands down Jenner (the absolute WORST), Shadow Cat, and Orion IIC. Though in each case, once I found a build that clicked it went pretty quick after that. I just, for some reason had the hardest damn time finding those builds on those mechs.

But G'DAMN if I ain't dreading Phase 2...lol

Got to drum up some more stamina.

Oh, and P.S. DEFINITELY spent WAAAAAY more than I earned during this event. Fortunately, I was mainly in it for the camo, but still, it was not "c-bill economical".
