You can say that again, this has been one of the worst events yet. On Friday afternoon I thought I'd give the timber wolf challenge a go I thought pah easy. Been stomped in pretty much every single game due to useless ******* teams. And the worst part still haven't completed it. Had several 400+,500+ and even 600+ damage games and still only on 6/9 kmdd. Should quit really and go to king crabs.

Your team will leave you behind. Then you have to worry about being light mobbed.

Freindly fire. Freindly fire everywhere. And yes it's mostly clan mechs again (orange lasers).

People are getting so desperate for kmdd's now they're rambo'ing, meat shielding behind smaller friendlies and deliberately shooting through them now.

This badly made game can obviously not compensate for some awful players that seemingly couldn't shoot a barn from inside it unless of course there's a blue dorrito in front of them.

I don't have a single point in any of the challenges because they didn't include Urbanmechs.

Oh well, I don't feel like driving trial mechs to get the stuff.

The friendly fire is getting really bad though. I'm tired of being the mech that the assaults are hiding behind. My back is taking more damage than my front.

Just wait for the Military-themed Solaris parts kits.

God, my Huntsman's gonna get *so* decked out with extra gubbinz.

I did pretty well with Phase 1 of Trial By Fire.

Phase 2...well...

Did pretty well with all the IS mechs, and was feeling pretty optimistic going into the weekend about finishing up the Clan mechs.

Started with Highlander IIC, and since I didn't want to pay to kit one out, used the Trial version. Damn but that thing just wasn't clicking for me, at all. It took me waaaaaaay too many matches to get my KMDDs with it but finally managed it. Lost out on most of a game day on Saturday with a memory issue on my comp I was trying to work out, but still thought to myself, "Well, just the Mad Cat, Ryoken, and Hankyu left. That's only 18 KMDDs. I should be able to manage that still.

And then...Mad Cat. Oh holy hell. I just could not figure that thing out at all. I hit a freaking wall with that thing, and the whole time thought to myself "Am I just that stupid? This thing was freaking ubiquitous at one time, and I thought it was supposed to be an 'EZ-Mode' Clan mech! Da'fuque?!!"

Took me most of Saturday night, all of Sunday day, and even what little bit of time I had to play today to get it done. And by then it was just too late to even pretend I was going to make it happen on the Ryoken/Hankyu. Ah well. Next time.

The good news is, I did set up a Ryoken-D that I'm pretty into, that proved pretty fun in the few matches I did get in before the event expired.

Oh, the bright side of things is, I can finally get back to playing whatever-the-hell-mech I ACTUALLY want to play for a bit.

for the lucky charms I told myself- just run something low pressure after going nuts trying to get kmdds. so I said to myself "self- what unloved mech can I use for this then neither I nor anyone else will expect anything from?" and then I saw it- my glorious purple trebuchet 7M- dual ALRM 10s and 3 MLs. been through about 20 matches or so- didn't qualify once due to a stomp. am about +15 in my kdr in those matches raising it to 1.6 compared to my overall .97 kdr. 500+ dmg matches common, multiple 2-4 kill matches.

why do I need an IS LRM mech to start doing decent?

edit- and in all this polar has come up as an option in about half the matches. since I am playing with something that HAS LRMs it hasn't won a single vote yet.

Clam mechs op stupidity is exactly that, they are not as great as many would have you believe.

Just died from overheating immediately after being shot by a freindly (three times no less) but the last time right in front of me. Surprise surprise he was driving the greatest of all crutch mechs the MC mkii.

Timber Wolf isn't nearly as good as it used to be; it got nerfed hard by the engine decoupling. The top Clan heavies are now the Hellbringer and Ebon Jaguar.

That said, I ran the Timber Wolf and Stormcrow with laser vomit builds for the event, and they did great.

heavy queue been around 65-70% all day, needless to say I didn't get to try out my roughneck very much. been going with ac10 or lbx10, 3 ASRM4 and a couple ML- seems ok. might try to move the ballistic to the arm slot though for better target tracking instead of the torso.

just had an event themed match. 10 mechs 65 tons and over, me in an urbie and a viper. viper discoed. we lost 4-12, I had 4th most damage on the team....

glad I finally got my 100th loot bag that match to unlock the camo for my urbie swarm so I can ignore the charge of the heavy brigades for a bit.

I am up to 29 loot bags but I am still less than 2,000,000 C-Bills and now I have to convert XP to GXP. My Sun Spider Vanguard has 8 skills on it. I love playing this game but the new skill tree is a real bear.

My favorite is laying out a basic plan people agree to, then once the shooting starts you and one or two others die trying to realize said plan. The others do who knows what else.

So I'll have a go at scouting as it's great for quick games. Spends ages looking for each game to then be dumped in a team where my team literally stand still and do nothing and wait for the enemy to pick then off blindfolded.

I do think the storm crow is too strong for scouting though. Typical PGI logic the clans should be allowed the same tonnage as IS due to the (crying the loudest) clan crutch pilots.

PGI dropped deck weight in FP to 240 down from 265 for Clans, what gives???!?!!!!??? I had to use a Storm Crow-P and the Loyalty Kit Fox to optimize my tonnage. Would like to do Orion llC Skool and TBR-S plus Linebacker Redline then Kit Fox.

Just had a domination match on Polar where the red team could of gone on holiday and come back and still obliterated our team.

My whole team just stood stock still just on the edge of the circle only me and a centurion kept trying to get in to stop the countdown timer going down.

What does our entire team do? ...Press 'S' the reds could of won the game (they did) by spitting on us.

Why are people so thick?

Haven't been playing due to my graphic card failing. Temporary replacement didn't work on large maps.

Found out why the card failed. Had a Trojan that was mining for bit coins for some unknown person which completely spoofed my virus scanners. Yeah I run two supposedly compatible virus scanners because of reasons. Turns out that it was using my graphics card to mine for filthy bit coin lucre. Removed the malware.

Put the old card in and it works great!

Unfortunately a 2 week hiatus makes one a little rusty. Not getting decent damage, my positioning is off so I'm taking team damage that I usually avoid and feeling like a klutz. Had a couple of good teams that carried my sorry butt, helped a couple of good teams marginally.

It will get better.
