Seriously. Sometimes firing WITHOUT intending to hit a target is your best strategy. Some boats don't seem to realize that they wield the best suppression weapon in the game, capable of keeping several mechs hull down while your mates get into position.

And you cannot forget the psychological effect of the incoming missile warning sounding constantly in your ear. We've all experienced it. That alone can give an edge to your team when used right.

works with streaks too....no differece in the warning...

love watching enemy scatter like roaches from an "Incoming Missile" warning...from a Streak 2 shot from 850m away...LOL

Thank you for removing my desire to do so.

The sad thing is nearly every player seems to be:
Hang back and wait till someone else does something
Try and "snipe" no matter what is going on
Ignore chat
Then cry when we get overrun because teams stood still for 99% of the match.
Oh and also panic like crazy and back up in a straight line the nanaosecond they get shot.

Yes not everyone responds the same way, but experience is a great teacher and if you are capable of learning from it-it should have taught you more aggression=more wins. Passivity nets you more losses over all.

:(

I have great respect for the people I've met in this game, through this thread, and through the forums in general...

And if there's anything I know about life it's this.

Ignore chat

Given the sheer number of people in the forum who actively advertise that they have turned chat off?
(Or left it off? I think the default might have been off)

I do not think they are "ignoring" it.

No idea though - as I turned it back on (foolish as I feel for doing so sometimes) and did not worry about it.
It may suck sometimes (and sometimes frequently!) but you cannot have a team based game without communication. <_<

No, you're right. You can't turn off team chat. Just all chat.

Why don't people spend the time I buy them with my blood wisely? I'm in the bog piloting my YLW. It's the start of the match. A Crow a Kit Fox and a Jenner jumps me. For nearly a minute we waltz around each other. I manage to down the Crow and Rough up the Kit Fox badly before I go down. Well I think. I tied up three mechs and for a while it was 11 vs 9 in our favour. I check to see that it's now 11 vs 8 on the enemys favour and my team hasn't moved an inch. I'm going to rename my Misery to Mr. Huddle and only move out once my team is wiped out.

A recurrent whine today:
Soloists.
I am getting sick of them constantly demanding the game be changed for them over people who group. If this trend continues it'll end up like all the other games that prize the solo (MMo...right?) experience first. Once that happens this will be WoT v2.0 but not as good.
We are getting voip FORCED on us, whatever we choose to do us groupers are going to get adversely affected. Don't use it and preserve our social chatter? You are info gimped.
Use it and you have to use 3rd party AND this voip and your social chatter is impacted.
Serious QoL issue right there.

Only people who really benefit? Solo players, the golden ones. I'd love to see exactly how much money dedicated soloists generate compared to long term unit players, the actual facts.Because they think because there is more of them they are more important...is that really true?

Why do people who only play in groups think that they are Gods gift to the game and warrant every advantage, every benefit and that their opinions are the only ones that matter?

Touche, but currently groupers are the only ones who can be negatively impacted. I.e social chatter aspect. The confirmed soloists , those who refuse to group up or get involved (not counting those who can't ofc), those who deliberately exclude themselves seem to be the actual object of your statement.
They join the game knowing it's about units/factions etc. Deliberately exclude themselves from that, then rage like merry hell at PGI to change it to suit them. PGI respond by giving therm a solo only queue (1st time I have ever seen anything like that in 15 years of gaming) and forcing 2 mans into stomps vs 12 mans. Soloists? They just laugh.
They cry because teamwork is unfair (same teamwork they refuse to participate in) get their way, ruin other's fun then cry for voip. Voip gets put in and they then can use teamwork (!) the very same thing they raged at, at the very start....
So it's come full circle.

Don't like premades because it's unfair
They have voip, I don't
Voip is offered to them, they refuse-why should I?
Raging/crying-they get solo queue where voip don't matter.
We want teamwork, give us voip!
Voip gets introduced, hopefully team work happens.
Result? same place we were in, at the very start!

Only common theme here is: They don't have to lift a finger.

I'm sorry if that came across as rude, I know it is and I'm sorry. But the sheer incredulous stupidity of the situation staggers me. The stance of solo only just does not make sense, on any level.

We don't want teamwork, it's unfair. Why should I. PGI please give us a way to do teamwork

O_O

when will pugs in CW learn that you cannot win an attack by playing peek-a-boo at the gates and never setting foot past them??

its infuriating to have a team sit back and watch as 3 others actually go in the gates, only to get focus fired down, while they all sit back and hide, not even providing covering fire....

playing solo gives nothing but frustration anymore. even after DCing in a banshee you can do more damage than the rest of the team....
0:6 in 3 minutes. without any effort for the enemy.

i love how the fkin blowtards die like flies, blame the *lightwheight* team they got for failing hard.
then the last mech active (my cicada) done 100 more than 10 of 12 mechs from my team. awkward players are awkward.
i should just go afk each battle and yell at the team for beeing complete ****.
and do nothing else.
