How About Some Friendly-Fire For Lrms?

We can accidentally hit our teammates if they get in our way. Why is it LRM boats get to fire with impunity even when their own teammates might be blocking the way?
Frankly, I think brawlers and light mechs will be less inclined to complain about the LRM buff if we could force LRM boats to have to hold their fire by hugging their teammates. This is a tactic that is often used when engaging multiple opponents. Light mechs are especially good at inducing cases of accidental FF.
I don't see why LRM boats should be exempt from this. I think its only fair to force LRM boats to check their fire like everyone else when there is a wild melee going on. No more indiscriminate fire where only a small percent of their LRMs might possibly splash onto their teammates.

LRM's can hit friendly targets.

Edit: I also do the same with direct-fire, and the funny thing is they never get clued in that it's their own team that's killing them - they just rage about "unkillable lights" and how "lights are OP"

That would be great, if Paul didn't seem to listen to these kinds of people.
But here we have it, buff to 175, say you are nerfing to 160, then actually nerf it to 150 and take LRM's back out of the game.
If they were ever really back in the game, which I still feel like they weren't against good players.

All I can say is I don't care what they do as long as they don't screw up the LRMs flight paths. They used to fly at max height before making a mid-air 90 degree turn and landed on you from directly above, rendering all forms of cover useless. Those with AMS quickly found themselves with a bunch of new friends.

That's fine, and I agree, PGI sucks at flight paths.
But the speed buff was actually a good way to come at LRM's, which are still a giant catastrophe even after the change.

Quite frankly, I don't mind the missiles as much as I minded the poptart gauss and ppc boats back when they were a problem. LRMs have always had a chance of being interfered with before impact, especially if the target is deep in a AMS heavy friendly formation.

Apparently that was a typo on Newman's part:

I wrote that missile speed was changed to 150 when in fact it was changed to 160
Sorry for the mistake
