I don't know...20 tubes, Tag plus NARC is pretty fun. Performs better than SRMs at 250M as well....
They have a place in the game now, hopefully PGI won't break them again with a hotfix.

why in the world would you have to run an LRM boat? do you think having LRM's makes one immune to being hit by LRMs or something?
Did you HAVE to run with ACs last week just to stay in the game?

He didn't because every mech with ACs can't always target and shoot the same target pretty much everywhere except alpine (since lrms are often out of range) and better yet do that from 800m behind cover. Focus fire with lrms is 10x easier to accomplish than any other weapon system. He has to run them in order to counter their spotters and try to keep better control over the map. because the team with fewer lrms is locked into cover and forced to stay there until the lrm problem is dealt with, which it many times isn't, or they get flanked and slaughtered by acs/PPCs chipping away at the mobility locked mechs stuck behind cover.

If this is true, it should be looked into. I am not one to want missiles to be flying into kitchen windows and such. And Especially if I am hitting you from a side. Your arm/leg should get the brunt of the damage I would think.

I'd still like to see them break the LRMs into 5 point groups and send them off toward random locations like they do with the SSRM2s. It's not as if they haven't figured out that part of the coding yet.

They were NOT fine before the patch. They were a rare occurance on the battlefield because of how lackluster they were to use. A large number of mechs in battletech have at least some sort of LRMs in their builds for early harrass. Yet no one ever used missiles unless they were a dedicated missile boat. I'm finding now that builds more along the lines of stock loadouts work very well. Having the mix of ranges also helps with heat management as not all weapons are used all the time at all ranges.
As for LRMs hitting center torso it is most likely artemis equiped mechs as i've tested the differences in the testing grounds. Artemis clumps together and mostly hits the same spot.
Although you may feel differently i believe the missile change was a good thing, It brought a formally inferior weapon system to the battlefield. They still are a pretty hefty investment tonnage wise needing ammo to go with it and all. There's more variety now than the old boring meta of ballistic and PPCs boats.

This excuse is a little getting old 3 days after patch.

Problem is spending first 5 min (of many games) doing nothing, after digging into a hole. If you drive a med, it doesn't take long to get enough damage to get mauled by any kind of direct fire once the real fight begins. Betty is still as slow as ever detection, but it now it actually gets you hurt.
I'm plenty "aware" of the missiles, they just make running a speedy brawler med intensely annoying. (which is what i've been leveling since this ham storm began).
Still manage around 50pt's avg but the 80-100+ games are just rare now.

Really?
How long did the whole "let's figure this crap out again" thing take after they introduced Ghost Heat?
And, even when the "new toy smell" is gone, you're going to see a LOT more LRMs in the game because they actually work now. Kind of like how you started to see a lot more PPC/AC combos after Ghost Heat got introduced. It's a new "meta."

Wait you're saying that ghost heat was ever re-addressed? Pretty sure that stupid "balance" in a long line of other stupid "balancing" caused a mass exodus of much of talent in this game.
If that's what you consider "figuring it out"...
