I'm not sure what to call this, and therefore don't really know what to search so sorry if this has already been posted.
When I try to look around or aim in-game, my cross hairs go beyond the weapon cool down indicators. If I look around fast enough my pilot will turn his head first, with the mech and cross hair following as it should be, but if it's not fast enough, then I get the weird thing where the cross hair reaches where I'm looking before my pilot does.
Anyone know how to fix this?

Working as intended.

This game is different from any other.

Weapons mounted on most 'Mechs arms can move faster than the torso weapons.

The part that moves the fastest is the arm weapon reticle.

The part that has to catch up is the torso weapon reticle.

Also, arm weapons can very often target farther up/down than torso weapons.

Your torso reticle follows your arm reticle, as fast and as far as it can.

If you group your arm weapons together and your torso weapons together, or at least in similar groupings, you can actually fire at two different targets at the same time. Or you can fire only your arm weapons when only those will reach the target, so you save on heat.

Also, it's bad form to "Like" your own posts. Some people will troll you just for doing that. Just so you know...

Didn't even know other people could see that :/ thanks for the tip
and as for the aiming thing, I meant the torso reticle as well. I played the game the way it's supposed to work, then they patched it (don't remember which patch) and it changed the way my mech aims now
For example, when I play the cicada, my torso reticle goes outside of the box it's supposed to stay in. It's hard to explain, but my torso goes faster than my pilot turns his head, but if I look around fast enough, the torso lags behind the pilot like it should. This creates a very annoying transition between the two and making it difficult to aim

It might be related to only having torso-mounted weapons versus having both arm- and torso-mounted weapons, as I've heard other people saying similar things about the Cicada. I don't have any 'Mechs like that so I wouldn't know.

The next time you play, go into the Settings and enable Arm Lock, then pilot your Cicada for two matches, go back into Settings and disable Arm Lock, then pilot your Cicada again. See if the mode makes a difference.

If you could use a free recorder like GeForce Experience (if you have an Nvidia GPU) or FRAPS to record some video and upload it to YouTube, that would help us (and Support) see what is happening.

Edit: Actually, never mind. The torso cross-hair reticle going outside the "box" is normal. I just went into a match in my Griffin and paid special attention to it. Happened all the time. Spider too. Apparently I've gotten used to it.

I don't know if this is supposed to be this way, but it definitely wasn't this bad before.
I have also asked/showed other friends and they don't seem to have this problem...

Yeah, as I edited into my last post, that happens to me all of the time. Spiders and Griffins were the first two I tested and it did it all the time on both. I've gotten used to it, so it's been happening for a while.

Did you recently get complete the Elites on the Cicada? It could be related to torso twist boosts doubling.

Edit: Went back and checked out some of my YouTube videos from two months ago (I started recording Jan 10th). Happened with my Jenners then too.

So, apparently ... working as intended.

Is this related to messing around with FOV ?
Is not a lag issue from what I can see... It is more like your whole view is being skewed.

For me it's not -- user.cfg is empty. And as I said, it happens on every one of my lights and mediums. I tried my Thunderbolt, and it didn't do it. But my Thud isn't an over-engined speed demon like all of my lights and mediums.

I think it has to do with being Elited and getting 2x Basic Torso Twist, plus having a big engine (which also increases torso twist speed).

When arm lock is turned off, the torso aiming reticule does not always stay in the centre of the screen. The idea, I guess, is that the pilot turns their head faster than the mech's torso twist speed, and this is probably necessary in some mechs to allow you to keep the arm reticule in view all of the time. The cooldown indicators *do* always stay in the centre of the screen, so when the torso movement lags far enough behind your "head" movement, it will leave the box of the cooldown indicators.

If you turn Arm Lock on then in addition to locking the arms, it forces your "head" to stay still, so that the torso reticule is always in the centre of the screen. Some people find aiming easier this way, but it means that you cannot look around quickly through your cockpit's side windows without waiting for the torso to catch up.

Also, spectate others when you're dead -- happens all the time there too, at least with lights and mediums.

I'm guessing that's the way it's supposed to be.
