You do not pilot lights and you have never piloted lights on Terrible Therma. It is obvious.

all maps that i need to use heat vison because it is a waste of a my graphics card.
all maps that are dark in back ground like teratherma because it might as well be a night map during the day.

I don't really hate any particular map, I just hate that you don't get to choose your mech or loadout depending on what map you're playing. Like any sane mechwarrior would ever bring a really hot mech to terra therma?! Or when my short range srm centurion gets dropped on that really big open cold map! It's a really badly thought out mechanic (i.e. completely stupid) and probably too much work for them to fix unfortunately. Changing your loadout based on environment should be a thing, it always has been for me in previous games.

Given the amount of guys disconnecting immediately after they see the map, alpine dirt and mordor seem to be the most hated maps.

I've seen units based out of Alaska deployed to Iraq.

Yeah but my point is that they won't be using the exact same equipment? The same camoflauge? They definitely would change their clothing, if it's just to strip inner layers to adjust to the heat.

ACUs and olive green Strykers, same as they had in garrison.

You own a few lights. Congrats. Does not mean you pilot them on a regular basis which would mean you are not a light pilot. I own a few heavies and assaults. Does not mean I pilot them on a regular basis and it does not mean I am a heavy or assault pilot.

You simply have no clue what you are talking about.

I'm going to second Escef and call you out on either bs or lack of skill with lights. The more hills, the better, as you can climb them faster and they make it significantly easier to dodge shots. The higher amount of cover and larger map area makes it easier to choose where to engage and retreat when necessary.

You simply have no clue what you are talking about.

It obvious you are not a light pilot and never played any significant time in a light on the map. The alleys are long and narrow with few hiding spots to get away from LRMs and meta builds. Unless you hide under a bridge but then you are confronted with lava and rapidly changing elevations in addition to being caught in a narrow corridor which makes you a fish in a barrel. Good players will tear you up in those areas. Apparently you guys do not play against good players. The only place with good hiding spots is on the outside edges of the map where you are little help to your team other than just sending info back if you are lucky to find the enemy. Running around the outskirts of the map takes a long time since it is so vast. Doing that effectively makes your 12 man team into an 11 man team. Making you a useless member of the team. All the other maps do not have this problem. All other maps are very light friendly.

Info gathering is just one duty of the light. Fighting and spotting is another. Spotting in PUGs is for the most part a fruitless endeavor. I guess you like being useless to your team which maybe fine when playing against bad players.

Both of you have a tendency to talk about subjects you do not understand. You really should have a grasp of the subject matter before you attempt to interject yourself in the conversation. Better let people think you are ignorant then to open your mouth and remove all doubt. Just some friendly advice.

This map needs a poll! lol... :)

I pilot lights all the time on Therma. It's my favorite map to run my COM-1B on. It never gets stuck on anything and runs up hills like they're not even there. Assaults overheat constantly on that map, while I with my minimum 10 HS run fairly cool.

"Hate" is too much said, but i dislike
1) Riverciy Night with the actual turret Setup. It was turned from the hated "gone in 60 seconds-assault" to "wait 15 minutes till its over-cause noone moves" (exageration included ;))
2) Terror Therma. The graphic itself is nice, but the environment feels wrong, like a demo of a 90´s graphic engine "oh look we can make wavelike hills...and more..and more...". For me, no matter what setup i run in a mech it feels always wrong . And that a map of this size has only one center..."ring of death"...booooring
A good change would have been if it had like 3 main spots (vulcano, research center, steelfactory).
3) Canyon Network. It looks awesome, but if you dont have JJs the fun is at 50%

4) although i like Alpine, the conquest setup is horrible...

But they sure have to change the airfilter systems for the cockpit and motor, other wheels and so on. And the current MWO system is like bringing an AW equipped Stryker into the desert some times

If I had to say I hated any map, it would be Terra.

My fav maps are the snow maps. And even Manifold.

The problem is ... If I get three or four cold maps in a row, I wind up overheating on a warm map at least once ... usually in front of two Atlases. Oops. They usually find cooked spider rather tasty.
