I've always assumed that when you leave after dieing you still get the XP. But it seems that the XP counter doesn't change when i do so on a regular basis.

Is there a set period you have to spectate before i can leave?

For example
Do i need to wait until the death animation is finished?
Until the score screen comes up?
Until i've closed the score screen and THEN leave?
Or spectate at least one player for X time and leave?

It doesn't tell me when i can. :S

If you DC after death (you are considered dead when the death animation starts), you get all XP and Cbills earned until that point plus any winning bonus if your team wins. You do not get any assists that you would score if your team finished something you shot. If you want to maximize your income, leaving immediately after death is the optimal choice. If you want to learn some tricks, stick around and observe your team mates.

Thanks.

However, this only answers my question partially. When one leaves after dieing he should still get either the winner or looser XP, right?

Does anyone know when the game considers the player "dead"? after you fall down, after the score screen comes up, after you close the score screen, x time after some event...

Yes, just not assists.

Literally as soon as the death animation starts.

you will get paid your C-bills and XP earned when the match is finished, which could take up to 15 minutes depending on how early you died and how long the match was.

In the old UI, it would never update your c-bill or XP while you were sitting in the mechlab. The payment was being made 'behind the scenes' when the match was concluded, but it didn't update the display unless you reset the client (either by exiting or by launching into a match). I don't know if this is still the case in UI2.0, but probably.

Don't bother watching your wallet if you leave a match early, since you probably don't know how long the match will be. Just carry on with the next one.

The automatic "Refreshing data" process should take care of your match winnings, among other things. I am saying "should" because UI2.0.
