Hello everyone, want to get back to mwo after all the changes but currently i'm stuck on my htpc. Since my main rig is not available for a couple more months i decided to start playing on my A6-5400k. Game works good on low settings and 720p i get about 30 to 40 fps average. Only problem is i have some input lag because of the weak gpu. I play demanding games at 960x540 because its half my native resolution and it looks acceptable, however, i cannot set the resolution lower than 1024x768.
Is there any way to use a custom resolution?

Look at the last one down
Basically u might have luck using a command in a cfg file
Also
Input lag?
Sounds more like vsync, but too low fps might do that too for you I guess

As a WAG
I should think you can find quite a few moar tweaks in these forums.
r_CustomResHeight r_CustomResWidthbut it's not like I've tested these …

I didn't post untill i tested some tweaks. r_Width = 960
r_Height = 540 doesn't seem to work.V-sync is off but having a weak gpu at 30fps can cause some lag even if the game looks smooth.
r_CustomResHeight
r_CustomResWidth
where would i add these?
thx for replies btw.

To the best of my knowledge, everything goes in user.cfg …
Does ATI CCC have a "Maximum pre-rendered frames" like nVida CP does? If you use Radeon Profile Tool, could you set it? And by "set it" I mean to < three?

Do you have
d3d10_TripleBuffering = 1 d3d11_TripleBuffering = 1 d3d9_TripleBuffering = 1
How about
sys_budget_sysmem = xwhere X is what you set V-RAM to, in the BIOS?

sys_budget_fps = y sys_MaxFPS = y45 is a proper goal, but as little as I know about APUs, 30 might be realistic …

I'm gonna give every suggestion a try. About memory speed, i'm currently using 1333 ram OC to 1866 stable. I'm a lucky guy, i know...
Overclocking is out of the question as i'm hitting the ceiling : CPU -> 3700 to 4100 (3+2 board so i wont go any higher)
GPU 760->1013 maximum stable limit, ram 1333 cl9 to 1866 cl11 - not much more to do here. All done in bios no 3rd party crap.
Cpu seems to handle it fine but the gpu not that much. Lag wouldn't be bad at all for a strategy game or rpg but this is an fps.
Maybe i got used to my r9 280x with no lag but still, i feel i can decrease it be lowering resolution.
I'll get back with some results...

well added this to user.cfg
sys_budget_fps = 30
sys_MaxFPS = 30
Fps was not capping at 30, it didn't help with anything
r_CustomResHeight
r_CustomResWidth
This works only in the splash screen and movies but as soon as i login boom 720p again as well as in game.
CCC doesn't have maximum pre-rendered frames.I will try RadeonPRO but in the meantime doesn't anybody know how to set another resolution other than the ones listed? Other games work fine with 960x540...a registry hack perhaps?

sys_budget_fps = 30
sys_MaxFPS = 30
Worked (sort of cap is 25) when used in system.cfg. Lag is gone, only need to get to 30 now.

sys_MaxFPS = 33 is the one that works. Fps stays at 29/30. Lag is gone. Game works great. Thx for the help, i basically got MWO running great on 720p low (i didn't modify the graphics, its low from the menu) on a 200$ htpc. Did i mention i have 2gb of ram of which 512 is used by the apu
Btw i did mod my windows 7 by disabling services and apps i didn't need plus some other optimization stuff like desktop composition disable etc..

What was the old rule-of-thumb about keeping flat-panels at their native resalution?
yes , but that only reduces image quality (well quite some)
input lag is more bad with vsync, or too much frames rendered ahead, or I do remember on my old comp getting 25fps, seemed like input lag, but was only realy bad fps
also to topic
Make a copy of system.cfg and rename it to systemcfgoverride.cfg. Than edit it w/ notepad.
r_Width =xxxx
r_Height = xxxx
that should do it, except if PGI disabled some cfg files or commands
