not a good balancing of the AMS... not enough to stand up to the lrm changes.

giving long range missiles such reduce flight time is ridiculous guys; the actual flight speed of the LRM is now 633 kph.

do you realize? buffing AMS range from 90 to 120 is not gonna do the job. you need to buff it to
200 meters at least 180!!!!!!!!!!!

I had/have the impression the maximum range shown in smurfy (was 200m, now 240m) was the correct range instead of the 90m (now 120m).

I redone the graphs to have both ranges in it to make it easier to decide which one is actually happening.

Where the old LRM speed and AMS Range (120ms/s and 200m range) downed about 5.8 LRMs, the new values do about 4.8
You can see the difference in the graph in the lower left if you look at AMS(200m) and LRM(120m/s) (first purple spot at 5.8) vs AMS(240m) and LRM(175m/s) (second teal spot at 4.8):

So in the end, AMS shots down 1.03 missiles less than before.

This just to provide information about how many missiles AMS can shoot down on certail missile speeds and AMS ranges.

I think they need to inscrease the rate of fire of AMS too, the distance was not enough.

What about the effect on SSRMs? Can you graph how much worse they are now against anyone with AMS?

Everyone loses their heads about how AMS interacts with LRMs; it's maddening to me to watch AMS getting buffed to counter LRMs without any consideration of how it interacts with SRMs and SSRMs in the slightest. If the above graph is correct, SSRMs do nothing outside 120m, and even inside that range you're hitting with one missile. Regular SRMs are doing terribly too, despite their improved speed- firing an SRM 4 at an opponent loses you half your shots at ideal ranges, and at the outer edge of the all-too-narrow firing envelope, you're losing three out of four missiles. This is pretty ****** up. SRMs were bad enough before, and they didn't really need this kind of kick in the teeth to make them all that much less worth taking.

See the numbers in the 3rd column?
These are the numbers for Streaks depending on distance to target with AMS.
If it's 90m (before patch) and 120m now for AMS range, there would be 2.1 missiles destroyed compared to 1.5 before.
If it's indeed 200m (before patch) and 240m now, there would be 4.2 missiles destroyed compared to 3.5 before.

Yeah I was wondering the before versus after, since I definitely noticed more of my Streaks being downed at around 200m. So basically half of my 4 SSRM2's get knocked out by just a single AMS. That's just insane.

Does your graph take into account that different types of missiles have different "hitpoints" ?
I don't know the actual numbers, I just remember vaguely that the NARC-missle got a HP bump some time ago to make it more resilient to AMS.
Stands to reason those HP differ for LRMs and SRMs but it seems to be another one of those undocumented features of this game.

Ah, sorry, had to include the new speed of 160 for LRMs (only had 120 and 175m/s) to the chart.
And yes, NARC has 2hp while other missiles all have 1hp.

Now the correct ones. :)
You can see the new speed of 160m/s, the AMS can shot down 5.25 missiles at 240m.

The new speed here in orange shows the max of 6.25 seconds to reach 1000m.
