I went with an AC/2 in the arm (2 tons ammo), 2xSRM6+Artemis (2 tons ammo) and 2x Medium Laser. It packs a good punch and is difficult to strip down to full zombie (i.e. center torso with the 2xML only left. You'll have to strip armor from the arm with no hardpoints. Mine goes 92KPH after speed tweak.
Here's a link to smurfy if you weren't aware of that fantastic site yet. Use it to help plan your builds.

as the first poster said, an AC/2, x2 SRM6 and a pair of MLs gives you the ability to engage at all ranges and is a good brawler.
For chasing lights I'd swap out the SRM6's with 3x SSRMs, and if you want to go pure brawler you can drop the AC/2, get x3 SRM6s and a pair of MPLs. It's a very versitile chassis.
Also, as said above, these are all using the ST275. the Cent is fast with it, and an XL makes you too prone to death.

If your SRMs register, you can do the classic 2xML+3xSRM6(A) zombie with major firepower.

In my personal opinion, this build favors what I have deemed the 'twist & tap' tactic - meaning you expose your left arm (your dedicated damage sponge) to your opponent, twist left, unleash your weapons, twist right, and let your opponent shoot your left arm which is essentially a shield anyways. I think twist & tap works well with the Cents, especially when you shoot your opponent during their weapon recycle time. Just a suggestion from a fellow Cent-driver, hope this helps. Good hunting!

You have to pick and choose which weapons to use. Typically I use the AC2 at range to harrass or when I can circle around an assault and get to that back armor. Once I get to mid range, I dont even try to use the AC2.

you could do that with 2 medium lasers, jumpjets and 87.5 kph with a standard on hawk (this is why i dislike them

however losing the arms means losing your lasers leaving you only scatter damage weapons in torso's and its not as good as spreading damage as centurion while being a more prioritized target

or you could downgrade to standard 265 for 85 kph for .50 tonns free
and take out a medium laser for 1.5 tonns while changing the other laser to 2 small

I can see what you mean, but there are a few reasons I prefer the CN9 over the SDH.
1) I prefer the lbx 10 in the arm for easier target tracking.
2) The CN9 runs a little bit cooler
3) The sustained DPS while not much higher, is a little higher.
4) The CN9 can lose both its side torso's and still have weapons.
5) Almost the same armor for being 5 tons lighter;. 340 SDH vs 338 CN9
6) The field of view in the CN9 I think is better than the SDH.
I do agree the SDH has the advantage with he jump jets. The minor differences for me tends to make me prefer the CN9.

I harrass at range with the AC2 and wait for the brawling to begin. Also, it chase off lights decently.
That works well with a good team. On your own (in PUG-matches) you might want add a BAP (or the streaks will be useless against enemy ECM lights or cicadas). I would also prefer more ammo for the AC/2.
For a long time I was not willing to use XL-engines on my centurions, but once I tried them I'm not willing to go back to standard engines again. The added speed (for the Cent-D) or the extra-tonnage make well up for the ability to continue shooting with 2x ML for a short while after one of your sides is gone.
