nice congrats to those guys who won.

Though the in game currency reward is a bit lackluster.
Congratulations you won 1 dollar worth of in game currency to runners up 3rd 4th 5th. so awesome.

Yeah, I think this was more about the bragging rights and seeing how one stacks up in a competitive crowd, or it's just about a fun excuse to play the game.

Though technically I think they won more like $2.33 worth of MC.

Congratz to all the winners, especially to those who pulled it off in the name of the Archon!

Any chance we could get the number of participants per faction?

Would be nice, but I'm pretty sure we won't.

we'll be having similar competitions in the future.

No thanks. Better make the actual TEAM tournament in a TEAM-based game, where only winning matters and not how many kills you steal or how many arms you blow off Atlases or how many people you managed to spam with artillery and airstrikes.

I was 560-something on the Kurita list last time I checked before going to bed. Yay! I'm one of the faceless average masses whose only function is to die for the glory of our betters! I'm participating!

Rasalhague could have done way better but a lot of top dogs in it had irl stuff to do. I had too many papers to write and homework in general for college.

Your not faceless, we know know at least 560 Kurtians were taking part, lets here more from the high numbers gives us a clue on how many competed

Well, after my first game for the weekend I was at 800-and-something, so at least 800+ Kuritans participated.

Oh, I know, but take House Marik for example (sorry guys ;) ), where sure, on the surface 105,026 is a great score from those top 50 Marik pilots. But when you consider that they also played about 200 games more, total, than the next most "active" faction (Lone Wolves) to get that 105,026, well, surely you see where I'm going with this.

Give House Liao another 900ish games with the scoring averages they seemed to be pulling, and all of a sudden it seems that, perhaps, rushing to give them the "Wooden Spoon" is, perhaps, a bit hasty in this case.

Edited to add: "P.S. This is intended in the spirit of good natured ribbing of the winners. All in all, good show everyone!" :P

This of course now means the name will have to be changed to the COMfed pact

Not really. Had some really terrible games on saturday, so I did the 10 matches and ended somewhere down 1,066 with some 9xx score.

After 1 match yesterday (saturday) (MS: 113) i am rank 1507 for our beloved Archon.

Will do more matches later but this should give you an idea about the participation.

If there were some players with a matchscore worse than mine, then there is the possibility that there are 1.500 or more people per faction.

Anyone else find it ironic that the only house with a total joke for a military won this competition??

Anyone notice that the house with the most STABLE CURRENCY won the competition? Not all mechwarriors fight out of loyalty to a flag or 'royalty.' The only reason the mercenaries didn't win in this competition is that they were all paid quite well to fly the Steiner banner. Axe64 is part of the Devil Dogs Galaxy, Wolfs Dragoons for example. So is Little Soldier, who was another highly ranked 'Steiner' on the boards...

In any case, Congratulations to all! I know those who won lost a lot of sleep this weekend. Too bad PGI was so cheap with their prizes. The top five from each faction should have received a hero mech! (At least 1st and 2nd place! Come on, you cheapskates!)
