Don't quote me verbatim because we were drinking PPC's, but I asked Russ about in game salvage/tournament prizes in San Francisco and he said something about Canadian gambling laws or something why they can't give out big ass prizes for internal contests.

I don't think a Hero mech classifies as a "big ass" prize.

300 MC for 5th place is a kick in the nuts, it is like telling that player they received a free mech bay to get a better mech if they wanna win next time.

no. Twinky didn't even play on sunday. and for an individual tourney the last thing you want is a good player on your side.

I am a moron, and didn't read that I needed to be opted in the day before. First time I actually get to drop on the weekend tourney, and I forget don't get to participate

Every game on Sunday I dropped I was praying "please give the enemy seven trial 'Mechs and a bunch of guys with LB-X so I can kill all 12 of them and break 14th place..."

Instead spent the entire evening fighting a Kong premade and random top 10 players from the leaderboard.

Ya, individual tourneys are funny.

Is my group good enough to not get rolled, but bad enough that I can get most of the kills. Having a good player on your side greatly cuts how much damage/ how many kills you can get. Towards the end of the event on sunday, Imm was talking about it being pointless to be playing right now. Too many good players online, so the chances of having a match increase your score is low.

Anyone else who did not get the reward? I opted in on Thursday, I did at least 20 matches, I have a faction choosen long before that and the game even told me it was updating my inventory a moment ago, but I got no item.

Don't think you had to be top 50. Got it on an alt account as soon as I did ten afaik, though I was top 50 on my main acct (this one).

Not true, really. If you work as a team to maximize each match for a particular member, actually having your other teammates spot for you or distract the target without doing damage themselves can provide you with tons of opportunity to do maximum damage yourself. This was only a "top 10 matches" competition, so each person on your team would just have to get ten optimized matches for a total of 40 matches. For instance one maximized LRM boat and three light spotters to harass the target while you lob away - they don't have to be doing anything more than narc'ing and buzzing around like gnats.

Specific numbers haven't been posted that I am aware of, but several people have had alts that ranked in the 1000-1400, so I would assume roughly 1500 per faction, or ~11,000 total amongst the 7 factions.
