Are MGs and Flamers not both hitscan? MGs are, I know for a fact, but I haven't use flamers for...quite a few months.

I think this is a great idea -- combining server downtime and a public test will mitigate rage and (probably) increase testing turnout. Well played.

Monday? :)

Well, nothing's released, so I guess we download and patch the PTS stuff at around Monday 10AM PST (or PGI time).

Don't remember what hitscan is but they have speed listings on Smurfy's who gets the data from files TMK.

Maybe PGI could be convinced to change launch date of those two to 1-2 patches later making current date for trying on Test Server? Or convinced to put them on Test Server soon?

Lasers are hitscan, the moment you press the trigger it does the damage, no projectile. MGs are the same as lasers, with a CoF and 2x range. Those bullets are just visuals, and don't represent the damage dealt.

Of course, Flamers I don't know about.

AFAIK, Flamers are hitscan. However, their ROF is like 1 second bursts? I'm unsure actually. There is no cooldown though.

Edit: Smurfy "confirms" the DPS is .7, so yes, 1 second bursts (of fail).

Have you guys noticed that the Mechs we are using now are getting dumb down noticed that your not doing as well as before?

A great plan to get you guys to BUY new clan Mechs, etc.. As you cannot have a founder, or normal Mech, the Mech which you have spent time to master and learn to use it properly on the battlefield be seen to kill a clan Mech.
They are after your money ,again!
Its like the buy camo thing, Why buy camo when you have a great big triangle saying HERE I am kill me.
20 months ago all the promises on closed beta where different, not sure which way MWO is going any more.

I do hope that they start to listen to their customers.

I say they should explode right before hitting the target into more LRM's just like a MIRV.

But this begs the question of why Smurfy's shows MGs and Flamers with 100 m/s speed. From what I know, Smurfy's gets this data from MWO game files. If MGs and Flamers are hitscan, they should have no speed listed like Lasers yet ....

Something is not right in the Land of MWO Weapons.

I have seen the same in other games such as LotRO. Their plan in closed BETA was to allow you to go from Start all the way to Mordor and the End of the War of the Ring. According to CB Plan, that should have been finished in the past few years.

Here in 2014, they are only halfway there.

My View, no CB Plan survives contact with The Public Gamers. Once a game goes Open BETA then Launch, the larger playbase brings up issues they want, the company responds to meet expectations of the larger group of paying customers, the Plan changes and the CB Players become disillusioned due to changes.

It is a change from how non-MMO games were designed, with those the game is kept in a CB type format until most to all of the Plan is achieved then it goes Public.

SRM's are the slowest non guided, non cone of effect weapon in the game..
