Hi all

Just found this site and it looks good, played MW for a while a while back before I got into MMO so this should be good.

The questions I'm gonna ask have probably been asked before but I'm not much of a forum person and seeing 5 and 6 page long stickies is to me, a bit pointless, I require a bit of help.

So here we go:

Any Idea when the Beta will be out? (this year, next year or who knows?)

Who will be allowed in the Beta? Will I get access as having created an account or will I have to trawl sites that give away Beta keys?

I'm currently playing World of Tanks (as well as many other games), that game uses the 'everyone has a role' sort of scenario, will this be similar? i.e. scouts, artillery and everyone else try to kill or protect, although of course every does what they want, when they want.

Will everyone have to start with a little scout mech and have to work thier way through until they get something else or will there be (sort of) scout, artillery and killers at the start and you build your way up in your choice?

I read there are 2 sides (might be wrong) will you be able to have multiple mechs on 1 account and if there are sides can they be on different sides?

Hope you can answer the questions and for those of you who like ranks in forums, its a whole point on your quest to have more posts than anyone else.

Who knows, a few sensible answers and it might even be a readable sticky.

I'd like to introduce you to the concept of a document called a FAQ which oddly enough contains a list of Frequently Asked Questions and their respective answers.

There's even a handy-dandy link at the top right of every...........single............................page. (Labeled FAQ.)

While several of your questions aren't covered yet in the FAQ, that's because it's just too early, and no information has been released regarding them.

Edit: Let's try again, since this wasn't received in the spirit it was intended by someone who's "not a forum person."

This is a pretty new forum for a recently announced game undertaking. We really don't have the answers for many of your questions. The rest of them are easily answered in a limited fashion by referring to common sense.

But starting out a new thread with the statement that you're lazy and don't like to read things which are probably stickied just for your convenience of not having to search for them (which is unhelpful and rude) is likely to get you answers which are unhelpful and rude.

5-6 page long stickies aren't very long. And certainly not pointless. Most stickies have their original post updated regularly, in a forum setting.

No idea. Probably much closer to the stated release goal of the game, which is on the front page of the site as "Summer 2012"

This information has not been announced yet. And trawling sites that give away beta keys will likely get you nothing but naughty cookies and spam in your inbox.

Yes, this has been stated as a goal in the FAQ.

Most folk care nothing of "forum rank," and this statement is a bit disparaging.

Unlikely, one of the current stickies mentions not starting a new thread with questions that you suspect are common until after you've searched for the answers, and that sticky is quite readable.
More likely, these questions will be clarified in the FAQ as more official information is released.

Other good sources of information are the threads in the Announcements subforum, which are all announcements from official sources.

Thank you for your reply.

An advanced member I see, that was another point for you, mabye 1 day you will have a badge with 5 stars on and be able to cook the fries.

The reason I'm asking is that this is the first time I have seen this site, most FAQ's are written as the website is released and never updated, this seems an active forum and while I wasn't expecting a reply to every question, general answers would of done.

Anyway thank you for the reply, it reminded me why I dont like forums.

Don't be bumhurt.

FYI, this forum is an official MWO:Mercs forum. It is run and moderated by the people who are behind the game itself.
It's not a fan-based forum (meaning a forum created by fans of the game) so the information you see from people with Administrator, Developer, or Staff designations are from the actual staff behind the game.

Really the only information we have now is address either in the FAQ up top, or in the Dev Q&A that was released earlier today.

I posted a normal question and recieved that, it deserved a reply.

Thankyou for your answer, I'll wait until I get an email with further information, I was just hoping to get an answer about the beta 'keys', finding a game you like the look of is rare. Recieving a mail after a game goes into full alpha is dispiriting if you were up to go through the full Beta.

No matter how lazy you are, I'll try to answer to best of my ability.

- We don't know when will beta start, but the devs said, that we are going to get the date after Christmas (1st quarter of 2012).

- There was nothing said on that topic for now, so I can't answer you.

- They want to implement roles for every mech in the game, but because they have mechs and not historical tanks, it's going to be better (not just kamikaze light, camping arty and high level only heavy (assault in this case) matches).

- No. I started to believe in God when I heard it. You will just pick a class and work your way up the tonnages (tonnages not confirmed, but class part is there for sure, we didn't get any info on how will you advance in class, so we came up with tonnage theory)

- There are Houses (5 of them) and Periphery right now + Clans 1 year after release. We were said, that we will choose allegiance when we start the game, but nothing was said about having more chars on the same account, so I can't answer that.

P.S. Talking stuff like that about people you want to get the help from isn't the best way to get it, Ok? :)
