We've all heard of those scammers, who call and tell you there's a problem on your computer, then password protect (or even encrypt) your files/OS when you don't pay their "repair" fee. Well.

working in IT support I always enjoy conversations with those people, I have managed to keep them on the line for more than 15 minutes before, sometimes I will play dumb, one time I had a rational conversation lasting more than 10 minutes, by asking for further information about the problems, I can see how some people might fall for it.
a teacher in the school where I work fell for the scam and paid £140 recently, I hated having to tell her that she had been conned.
