Am i the only one having this issue?

Or did they, by any chance, increase the number of times the MM chooses Tourmaline Desert when they released it, and forgot to turn it back down?

When looking at my archieved stats, Tourmaline Desert is by far my most played map.
Twice as much as Frozen City, Frozen City night or Forest Colony, even if they are all much older.
Infact, my number of matches on Tourmaline Desert is 30-50% higher than on any other map in this game for the archieved stats.

With the stat reset, it became even more obvious.
For me, Tourmaline Desert now has twice as many matches as the second highest map.
From 104 matches after the reset, 22 have been on Tourmaline Desert.
That's almost 1/4 of those matches on one map, while the other 3/4 are devided between 12 maps.
I played Frozen City 2 times since the reset.

Anyone else stuck in a Tourmaline Desert loop? (for months)

My most played map since the reset is Canyon Network with a total of 12, followed by Terra Therma 9 and HPG with 9.

Tourmaline is a whopping low of 1. One. It's safe to say this is an artefact of a purely random map selection and a low sample size, and not a conspiracy or error. Grants I've only played half as many matches as you since the wipe, but the difference between our occurances on Tourmaline specifically is fairly clear.

I also have played nearly 1/4 of my matches on one map but it's been Canyon instead.

Just you I think.

I'm at 8.6% on Tourmaline over 127 matches. Other maps range from 2.4% (Frozen City) to 13.4% (Caustic).

Whats with the archieved stats? For me, Tourmaline is atleast 30-50% more often than any other map for about 900 matches.

Historically, Tourmaline is 212, a bit more than Canyon Network at 188. Roughly equivilent to the maps with 2 environment types if you add the two together (River City + River City night= 225, etc etc).

Notably, Tourmaline really did have a higher occurance in the map selector when it was introduced, and if you played a lot of matches during that time it would quickly rack up.

I've had 6 matches in Terra Therma, which is 7 matches too many.

24% of my time is spent on Terra Therma or Caustic Valley.

"Tourmaline Desert" is the strangest way to spell "Terra Therma" that I've seen so far.

My map drops are pretty well balanced, actually. I've had the most in Tourmaline at 14, but I've got five other maps with 10 or more drops each.

What I have noticed (and my map stats back it up) is that I only drop on HPG Manifold with teams that are immediately and ruthlessly crushed. I've only got 1 win out of 10 drops there, and I remember every one of those losses as being a God awful stomping. I know it's all just luck of the draw with pugs, but I still wince everytime I get deployed there.

That was my life on Caustic Valley for the first 10 drops since stat reset.

1 Win, 9 complete and utter blowouts.

Not just losses, full on slaughterfests.

Would be cool if the matchmaker would check what map he dropped you in for your last match, and then chose another map.
It's frustrating to get dropped into one map 4-5 times in a row.

There seem to be quite some guys who are "forced" to play one map (or 2-3 as for that matter) more often than others. Would be nice if the MM could balance this somehow.

Seems like it's bad luck, but IMO the times you get dropped into a map should be rather close to each other (with a difference below 10).
Well, they probably won't do something like this with private matches being released (around 2018 )
