For reference, they are giving less ("no free mech"), but also having a shorter period of time to accomplish it (although, only 12 hours less because of the database migration - most weekend challenges extend until the following Tuesday).

Compared to the Cent-A Champion mech that had some unintended bugs, this is a lot "safer" for PGI.

I'm glad the free Centurion was seen as a success, and that this sort of event is being repeated. A little good will goes a long way, and contests like these are a great way to generate it.

Definitely a fan of this and the free centurion + mech bay earlier, have to give some credit for not always being incredibly greedy and actually offering up some promotions like this, although I still think the prices for mechs, premium time, colors & patterns, etc. are way too high for what you get.

I have a sneeking feeling that they are going to hand out a total of 4 free mechbays in various ways so that the hypothetical F2P person can buy 4 clan mechs for cbills without having to part with their old friends. I think its an awesome idea! Keep it up PGI!
