2 problems I constantly run into when I solo drop that should be addressed in a matchmaking algorithm:

1) One team is full (12 mechs) and other team starts with 9 or 10 or 11 mechs. How is matchmaking not loading teams evenly so instead of 9v12 or 10v12, it would be 10v11 or 11v11, etc...?

2) One team is half medium mechs while other team is half assault mechs. Balancing by mech size would be useful in matchmaking, unless the half assault team is the 2 or 3 shorthanded team mentioned in point #1 above. Since mechs are chosen before matchmaking, I do not understand how this constantly happens. Maybe matchmaking could happen before you choose your mech to drop in?

The problem with being short handed is players hitting launch, being selected by the MM but not loading into the match for some reason. Either hey crash or disconnect or whatever.

Regarding tonnage, wait until the MM overhaul in the launch module wich is right around the corner. There will be 3 mechs of each weight class and the MM will try to match tonnage as well.

It was also said that with the new launch module that disconnected players will be able to reconnect BUT that was a long time ago and I've seen no further mention of it.

They're trying to make all the matching 100% junk so when they go to 3-3-3-3 it will look like its working :)

1 is due to crashing, not matching

2 will have to wait until I think end of April when they do the weight class matching stuff

If someone on your team crashes and is removed from the team before the match starts, why not fill that empty slot with another mech or move one from the other team to even the empty slots before match starts? I know DCs occur after the game starts, but those slots stay tied up and the mech sits in the game. However, completely removing a team member who crashed (and could possibly rejoin after the match starts) from the team and not refilling the empty slot seems silly.

Good to hear. I'd rather they leave the mech in a slot and give them an opportunity to load in later once the match starts, than to remove them completely and never refill the slot so the match starts with 10v12 or worse with no hope of a reconnect because they are no longer in a slot.
