Some players disco because they don't like a map, some have tech issues. I just report them now and let PGI sort it out.

The reason is my screen freezes, but I can still hear my mech walking. It normally freezes just after i hit full speed.
So, dont jump to conclusions, theres probably a technical reason behind some of the DCs.

my crew has found out that ctrl-alt-deleting and then bringing up the task manager, then switching back to mwo thru it fixes that bug 99% of the time.
Personally haven't had it happen to me in 6 months, but it seems to happen at least once to anyone new we get into the game, and rarely happens after they fix it like that.

I think it's simply PGI beeing to ****** stupid again to get a single piece of coding right here. THey are just completely incompentent.

I get that often, too.
For me, just opening the windows task manager (through either ctrl-alt-del or ctrl-shift-esc) removes the screen freeze at nearly 100% rate. After task manager is open, alt tab back to the game and it usually works again. This has worked for at least 2 of my friends as well, could be worth trying out.

Can't be true...Russ tweeted you are on an island because no one is having those issues.

As for the crashing problem, I think the way to handle it (short of fixing the crashes) would be for either the game to replace players that disconnect within the first minute of game play, or allow players to reconnect to matches they were dropped out of.

You can report people you suspect are c-bill farming (with proof is obviously best)
Something that could be integrated though is make a time limit for basic rewards. For example, if you disconnect/purposely overheat/get destroyed in under 3 minutes, you shouldn't get the "win" or "salvage" bonuses. That way there is time to get the ball rolling and it can discourage c-bill farmers as it's more time consuming. As for the unintentional disconnects/get destroyed, if you die in under 3 minutes...you probably didn't help the team much anyway...

And I'm running a modern system, so it ain't the computer, though of course, hardware and software can always disagree, no matter how new.

I've had tons of discos recently. Just because your hardware and the current software build work well doesn't mean that the build is stable. I had no discos for a year, when everyone else did. Now I have the discos. It's hardware and software code compatibility.

It'd be a shame if the entire player base was banned for 10 days when the servers are having problems. But it wouldn't be the first time PGI has done something that bit them in the rear.
And yes disconnects are frustrating but if people are start getting banned for it when its not even their fault they'll quit.
