I noticed that 1 out every 3 matches there is a player disconnect it almost seems to be intentional and I'm not sure why as I've noticed on several occasions its the same players. Are they getting free XP or Creds. In any case it detracts from the quality of the game and unbalances the teams. I recommend that a 10 day ban be instituted for any player that disconnects more than 5 times in a 2 hours period.

Some players disco because they don't like a map, some have tech issues. I just report them now and let PGI sort it out.

They don't get CBills if they dc before the match start. Not too sure about after the match starting

Ive disconnected at the start of the match, hmm must be 3 times since the last patch.

The reason is my screen freezes, but I can still hear my mech walking. It normally freezes just after i hit full speed.

So, dont jump to conclusions, theres probably a technical reason behind some of the DCs.

sometimes tabbing out to desktop and tabbing back resolves the freeze

my crew has found out that ctrl-alt-deleting and then bringing up the task manager, then switching back to mwo thru it fixes that bug 99% of the time.

Personally haven't had it happen to me in 6 months, but it seems to happen at least once to anyone new we get into the game, and rarely happens after they fix it like that.

Oh, i had some DCs right when the game started and i pressed W -> DC...or fighting, homing in for an aimed shot, here it com...crap -> DC...DCs happen in this game for whatever reason and some may be intentional...

Maybe Dx11 is a ressouce hog almost to hard to handle but they wont get data if nobody plays it right?

I don't think these are DC by purpose. Speaking for myself, I cannot start a single match, neither on DX9 nor on DX11 since last bug update patch. I have a 100%-CTD-rate since last bug update patch.

I think it's simply PGI beeing to ****** stupid again to get a single piece of coding right here. THey are just completely incompentent.

I get that often, too.

For me, just opening the windows task manager (through either ctrl-alt-del or ctrl-shift-esc) removes the screen freeze at nearly 100% rate. After task manager is open, alt tab back to the game and it usually works again. This has worked for at least 2 of my friends as well, could be worth trying out.

Not surprising. MWO typically crashes to desktop on me if I run through more than six or seven matches in a row. I think the game tracks if you're intentionally quitting and reentering matches in rapid succession, but I'm not sure. Having no reward for no contribution would handle that pretty well.

As for the crashing problem, I think the way to handle it (short of fixing the crashes) would be for either the game to replace players that disconnect within the first minute of game play, or allow players to reconnect to matches they were dropped out of.

What happens if the crashes are due to faulty internet or such? I think a 10 day ban is a bit unfair for the time frame you suggested...
You can report people you suspect are c-bill farming (with proof is obviously best)

Something that could be integrated though is make a time limit for basic rewards. For example, if you disconnect/purposely overheat/get destroyed in under 3 minutes, you shouldn't get the "win" or "salvage" bonuses. That way there is time to get the ball rolling and it can discourage c-bill farmers as it's more time consuming. As for the unintentional disconnects/get destroyed, if you die in under 3 minutes...you probably didn't help the team much anyway...

Well I've been played for several hundred matches now and had only one disconnect witch i know was caused by a power outage so I'm leaning towards purposeful disconnects. I highly recommend the ban solution to stop the nonsense.

ever since the direct x 11 patch, discos have been massively on the uptick. The build is quite simply not stable. I had not had a CTD in over a year, now every 4th drop I get it. And doesn't matter if I run dx9 or 11.

And I'm running a modern system, so it ain't the computer, though of course, hardware and software can always disagree, no matter how new.

I've had tons of discos recently. Just because your hardware and the current software build work well doesn't mean that the build is stable. I had no discos for a year, when everyone else did. Now I have the discos. It's hardware and software code compatibility.

It'd be a shame if the entire player base was banned for 10 days when the servers are having problems. But it wouldn't be the first time PGI has done something that bit them in the rear.

And yes disconnects are frustrating but if people are start getting banned for it when its not even their fault they'll quit.

I have had some disconnects since the previous patch...where as before I didn't have any..I thought it was because I was using an older Nvidia G force 430 graphics card...But, I have since added 4 gigs of memory and a new video card..a second gen Nvidia 630 and I have been getting the Cryengine memory allocation fail message about every 4th game I launch into...I have tried the MWO repair tool and doing a clean install, but I still have them...I apologize for dropped missions as it is frustrating to start a mech down..

Just thought I'd chime in on the uptick of disconnects. I've been getting regular discos, sometimes at start of match, sometimes in mid-match.
