However I was looking forward to getting a Raven Hero.
This trash mech seems to have fallen out of the nerf tree and hit every bat on the way down...
I think I will hold off getting Ravens until they fix this mess or bring out something useful.

EDIT: I love the Raven chassis design, I like the idea of an electronic warfare carrier, and I love the paint job. I WANT to like this mech, I was planning on buying the Raven hero when it finally came out as a lead-in to the rest of the variants. Why is it that so many of the mechs I really like are so bloody awful and the ones that look like someone had a seizure in 3DSMax are the ones with good hardpoint placement and types?
*sigh* I've spent long enough and endured too much frustration running mechs that I wanted to play rather than the ones that were good to fall into that trap again. I'm done playing mechs that are crap on the principle of avoiding the meta, PGI. Stop creating so many that are useful only for troll builds or balance your weapons so that 85% of the chassis aren't worthless anymore.
The fact that you have to avoid putting ECM on the the one chassis where is it practically expected based on the identity of the mech to avoid P2W whining is a sign that ECM IS OVERPOWERED. Under no circumstances is it acceptable to create a system where that one piece of equipment renders a mech chassis instantly desirable and therefore inappropriate to put behind a pay wall.

which is funny, since the most-used Raven is the 3L, and even on it and the others, THE most used weapon on them is, guess what, THE ENERGY SLOTS! way to go PGI

I feel your pain, this mech is irredeemably awful.
I was really looking forward to the Raven hero and I can not see any justification for making it so uncompetitive.

I have exactly 3 lights (all mastered). Raven 3L, was first light I bought. Jenner-D(S) because I contributed. Locust-1V only because I bought Overlord and I cannot sell it so I mastered it. I took each chassis to 8/8 basic and sold off the other 2 variants and getting my Locust allowed me to take the raven and jenner to master once I got 4/4 Elite with it.

I'd guess the reason this hero is so underwhelming is the repeated refusal to bring the RVN-2X and 4X into the status of "mechs anyone would ever play voluntarily for any reason." (I wrote a small book about why they're so bad a few months ago, if anyone cares.) PGI being PGI, they wanted to avoid the cries of P2W, so they had to take the baseline of how good most Ravens are (awful) and make the hero different but equivalent to that. The reason that the Huggin' is so bad is the hardpoints, but if they were different, it'd easily be far superior to the 2X and 4X, and I'm guessing they were trying to avoid that.

I'm sure you could take more if you were willing to take a smaller engine, but below 170 you're losing efficiency due to having to add in more heatsinks, and getting no speed out of it.
