The only thing that limits this design is SRM hit detection.. if they address that, as has been said they would.. than this design will be a very potent striker.

Err, not really. Even 'if' they fix SRMs it's got 2 SRM6s max. Those come with bad damage spread, and machine guns are not good quick-strike weapons. The 3L is a better striker. Plus I'm not much a fan of JJs on light 'Mechs. They seem to just eat weight and slow you down half the time.

The real plus from this is that it looks like they finally got around to giving the Raven dynamic hardpoints due to the hero.

Wait, they're taking away my NARC launcher streamed SRM4? Noooooooo!

Odin's ravens.

Garth once said Huginn and Muninn were reserved in a discussion about hero ravens. I can't find the post.

Same money says Muninn is either beams and ballistics or beams and missiles.

Maybe there will be 2, like the twin Dragons.

Edit; either way I don't raven. ! :)

p.s. I see they've given it a sensible max engine rating of 300, instead of the 295 for the 3L; I can only hope they go back and up the engine for the 3Ls by 5, and maybe finally bring the 2X and 3X up from 275; the boost from 245 wasn't nearly enough.

Ideally, they will either up all ravens to 295 engine cap or 300 engine cap.. It never made sense why the X variants were limited in engine size compared to the 3L other than some arbitrary limitation that PGI decided on.

Give me access to two working SRM hard points AND 4x MG"s, and I'll show you larger mechs that drop fast.

You are forgetting what Artimis does to missile spread.

Oh I hope so... i was SOOOO looking forward to a Hero Raven. But this little guy just seems... not so awesome :) The lack of ECM is the big one. I would have wound a way to cram a LBX10 in it or something, if it had ECM.... but no EMC is a deal breaker. Too bad, it has a cool paint job.

Yeah, I meant the poster who said the "obvious" answer was Nevermore. I think this is a much more interesting idea, just poorly executed.

PGI seems very gunshy with ECM ever since they gave it functionality. What was the last mech they added, post limitation of mechs that can equip ECM, that actually has ECM? I can't think of any.

Not likely, missile hardpoints still have a set maximum number of tubes, a narc hardpoint will still likely only have single tube launcher regardless of weapon.

Doesn't relying on MGs to do damage take this mech out of the 'striker' category? Seems it has to fight too long to deal it's damage to be a 'striker'...

That would be the engine ratings from TT.

Playing around with it in the public test server right now...

Also looks like there's an ammo readout on the cockpit monitors, something I hadn't noticed before...

The Striker role comes from the SRM's(assuming that they are successful in fixing hit detection in the patch).. and the MG's will allow it to obliterate internals faster once armor is stripped.

Your theory is sound, my Trebuchets will enjoy an SRM buff/boost/HitDetection.

2 ASRM6 can be quite deadly.

Yep, on the PTS right now as well. Ravens all get dynamic hardpoints, and they actually look really good! Dodged a bullet here, but I think they actually look a lot better than without the dynamics, even. Well, not if you add an LRM 15 or 20 into a side torso, but really, that's to be expected. Everything shy of that fits into the normal hardpoints nicely, and actually compliments the look of the mech. You can even see there's added detail for some things- like the stamped metal X when you have less than four tubes of missiles.

This mech doesn't look too bad. Combo of MGs and SRMs could be dangerous.

The SRM hit detection CAN be wonky, but I run 1 SRM4 on my Raven 3L (with 1ERLLaser and 2MLasers) and often the SRM gets me the killing blow.

I do think the mech will be geared more to killing a wounded mech vs doing the high initial damage, but I do see this thing still being dangerous.

Those readouts have been there the whole time.. it cycles between each section and tells you the ammo in each location.. it is easy to overlook, though, unless you are paying attention at the start of each match.

All said.. if they are adding Huginn, it is only a matter of time before they add Muninn.. if they don't slip it in with this patch.

And it probably has jumpjets too, because these Ravens must fly. I probably would get Muninn.

Usually when there are more comments than likes on a post on Facebook.. that means something is wrong...

-counts likes vs. posts..

HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM...

RIP RVN-H.

Although, double ac2, ac5, uac5, lbx10, maybe ac10 are fairly not viable!

This is totally a wait and see mech. It is entirely dependent on PGI fixing SRM hit detection. It will either be a very killer mech or absolutely horrible.

Huh...well that's f@#king weird. I've never seen the ammo readout working before.

This is what I see normally:
