Seconding this question, plus also if we have cash now, since the public test accounts will mirror the accounts we have now (as in inventory), can we test things like in past UI 2.0 tests? Like can we spend money/C-bills/MC without actually taking money/C-bills/MC from our actual accounts? Maybe I could test some mechs out then.

I got the impression that the Public test was more a "Hey, we're shutting down the servers for a few hours, here's your bone so you don't have an aneurysm on the forums" kinda thing. There are probable some small tweaks they're testing but I haven't heard about anything earth-shattering.

I'm kinda hoping we'll see random Timberwolves suddenly appearing in the test build. It'd be great and much-needed positive publicity.

Well, missile hit detection, LRM speed adjustment, server-side calculations. Network load after the server migration. Plus half a dozen other topics.

It's mostly bug fixes. As to whether you can spend money freely, I'd say it's safe to do so. The Test servers account data never gets copied back to your real account. That also means you don't get to keep anything you earn.

Cool, thanks for the input. :) I think it'll be similar to other tests in this case, so I could maybe use the C-bills I have to test other chassis and such then. Thanks.

Public test will have some stability fixes, as well as LRM speed readjustments.

In all previous public test instances, you should have your mechs, c-bills, MC, etc from an arbitrary point in the past where they took a server 'screenshot'. Whatever you had in your account when they made a copy of the server, you should have in public test. When they took this particular server snapshot is a mystery. for some people this may not be anything if they didn't have anything at the time.

If you had c-bills/mc/etc you can spend them like crazy because it isn't real.

Hey wait guys, is it not possible to play matches in the public test server? I thought that was the point?
