Since this was announced as an April Fools joke does anyone else feel they will release it unexpectedly April 1, 2015?

I've said so several times. Last april 1, we got a "hero" raven. Then, in april 2014, we got the Huggin.

So clearly, Urbie in 2015. (That should give it enough time to finish walking to the field anyway).

Well, you could rebuild an urbie from an anansi. Who's willing to do this and willing to post vids?
It's pretty easy to make an Urbie tbh.

If you want to build your own, refer to this handy-dandy how-to guide! :)

Quote

From the tabletop, we can see that a Stock Urbanmech would be the following in MWO:
Spoiler
This gives us the following summary:
UM-R60: 1E, 1Bm 0M, 2JJ
UM-R60C: 1E, 2B, 0M, 2JJ
UM-R60L: 1E, 1B, 0M, 2JJ
UM-R63: 2E, 1B, 0M, 2JJ
UM-R68: N/A
UM-R69: N/A
UM-R70: N/A
UM-AIV: N/A
UM-R80: 4E, 0Bm 0M, 1ECM, 2JJ

From there, we can build equivalent in the game!
Using a Spider SDR-5K / SDR-Anansi Base:
Using a STD100 Engine +Endosteel to account for the weight difference of the STD100 instead of STD60
UM-R60: UM-R60 / UM-R60
UM-R60C: UM-R60C / UM-R60C
UM-R63: N/A / UM-R63
UM-R63C: UM-R63C / UM-R63C

Firestarter FS9-H / Ember Base:
Using a STD100 Engine, extra weight accounted for within the extra 5 Tons.
UM-R60L: UM-R60L / UM-R60L

Using a Spider SDR-5D Base:
Using a STD100 Engine +Endosteel to account for the weight difference of the STD100 instead of STD60
UM-R80: UM-R80 (Couldn't fit 4 Energy, so have an extra heat sink)

'Updated' Builds, using the upgrades and mods that would be available to the Urbie in MWO.
Only using the Hardpoints available shown in the Stock Loadouts section, or it's not really an Urbie anymore is it! ;)
UM-R60-M: UM-R60-M ('Modern' - AC10 +3T ammo, ML)
UM-R63-S: UM-R63-S ('Superior' - LBX10 +4T ammo, ML)
UM-R22: UM-R22 (2AC2 +3T ammo, ML)
UM-R60L+: UM-R60L+ (AC20 +3T ammo, 2ML)
UM-R60L++: UM-R60L++ (AC20 +4T ammo, 2ML)
The absolute most expensive one is 4.9million C-Bills, the bcehapest being 3.9mil. (Or if you go Anansi, 1.2 to 1.6 mil, +2250MC),

Personally, I'm just waiting for the Anansi to be half price then I'll be grabbing it.
Till then, just my 5K:

So, anyone dressing up as the almighty Urbanmech for halloween? I'm not a costume person myself, but please share if you do :-)

I am planning on it. I might even record it but you will have to promise not to make fun of me I am a mediocre pilot at best.

No one would mock you for dressing up as our mechanical savior.

Sadly, I have to be in costume as Leon the Professional (my gf will be Mathilda) No Urbie for me this halloween.

So stupid moment... I was referring to my plan to dress my Urbie up as a spider and drop into some matches on Halloween. But if I had thought of t sooner I would have put my 10year old in an Urbie costume he is a mechwarrior and would understand haha. I guess he will probably want to stick win Steve from mine craft though

Just took Urbie out trick-or-treating. Really scared an ember but got most of my armor stripped off by a pesky raven. 95 damage - 3 kill assists and all the wonderful feelings that come from driving an Urbie!

Too bad I have to go to work. I think with a couple more rounds I would start to get the hang of ssllllooooowwww:)

Yeah, the speed is the hardest thing to get used to.

Need to take mine out over the weekend.

so i broke down and bought myself a spider-urbie for halloween. first match 4 assists, 171 dmg and survived the match. much urbie envy was had by the team.

update- so best to warn my fellow urbie-ites. apparently the spider-urbie is too powerful for the game to handle. after the first match i played 4 more.

2nd match- finally connected in at the 14:45 mark of the match- KSed a firebrand with a lone ac10 round. was alive at 15% when the last enemy jenner decided to tear me apart while my three teammates ran around in circles nearby. 89 dmg, 1 kill 3 assists

3rd match- connected at the 14:37 mark. went 1 on 1 with a summoner, took off an arm and got CT to red internals before he killed me. 147 dmg, 0 assists

4th match- connected at the 13:15 mark- took a step and died.

5th match- connected at the 14:10 mark. very laggy, some warping. managed to survive the match but only did 65 dmg w/ couple assists

I was honestly surprised at how well I did. It was better than my first time in a commando or a locust :) I took a video I might post it later so you can laugh at my total inability to aim with an ac10. And the Ember's "what the ..." moment when I first hit it with that ac 10. First time an ember ever ran away from my spider!

Dressing up my Cicada 3M as an Urbie and dropping for the next hour. Without ECM.

Not sure my teammates will be able to handle this. Happy Hallowe'en!

Urbie trick-or-treating. I think it is the hero variant with hand actuators.

I now have an Urbiespider.

Was going bananas trying to figure out why I had spare tonnage though - and then I remembered I had ferro equipped.

of course having made the urbie spider i also had to break down and make an AC20 cicada which is suprisingly fun as well and not completely a joke build either.

The Joke Cicada build, is the 2xAC 20 build.

oh yeah the true Boomcada is the dual ac20 that moves at 35kph with minimal armor and 1-2 tons of ammo. but i've never seen anyone running around with a single ac20. just stay with the big guys, shoot what they do and watch them get focused fired because obviously that's where the ac20 is coming from (as we know hitting "R" is apparently illegal in PUGland). :)

dire whale did that to me this weekend. was with an atlas and jager. started hitting him CT with the AC 20. he shoots the atlas, then the jager before he finally realizes they're not facing the direction he's getting hit from and aren't using ballistics. got the CT to yellow internals before he figured it out and killed me. :)
