Wasp, Stinger, Archer, Rifleman, Warhammer, and Marauder (and the Longbow, among others) are all the property of a company named Harmony Gold. Since they produce Robotech, a rival universe, there's no way they're going to let PGI get their hands on those iconic mechs (which FASA lifted wholesale back when they were still just a company making a mod for Traveler).

The Flea was tossed to the side - they just made the Locust instead. Also, there's problems with MASC, but they've even said that the Flea is too redundant so is being scrapped (for now, at least).

Hatchetman....oh, man, do I want one. Of course, they'll have to implement melee, but that would be the only mech I piloted (other than the Urbanmech, natch).
Yeah, but Harmony Gold is a sore spot, especially due to the circumstances, and that FASA had licensed the rights directly.

HGs claim was incredibly sketchy and tennuous at best, being they only had/have distribution rights, not to the image or name.
But they strongarmed their way through, and it's how they've been staying afloat in the last 5-10 years, by making tenuous lawsuits and cashing royalties based on their existing license and payouts from legal action.
A thoroughly reprehensible company, but one with good lawyers.

Imho, it's a really shame that devs waste time for this ugly mech instead of many important features...
But I repeat: this is my opinion.

A slow light mech... No thanks, nothing a Raven could not be outfitted with too plus it has 5 tons more. But still nobody seriously uses a AC20 Raven except to have some fun. But shooting twice before dying aint that much fun.

The Urbanmech is the erection causing, super umami of flavor change MWO needs. Weight classes and roles are all getting tedious. The resistance pack isn't going to do much to change this, except the Grasshopper (aka the Chubby Sparky). Getting an ambush brawler/sniper (also w. Panther) in the light format will be fun. And it also beg more development for more city maps/better map objectives. Doubt the Urbie is going to syphon much SDE time, and it will get more $$ than it takes away.

We wants, we craves... we get our underwear all melty for the Urbie. Damn you Russ, you take advantage of my frail addictions and need to have Urbception with the cockpit item.

(Now, all I want for Christmas is the Whitworth and the BJ-2.... *sigh*)

You mean the devs dedicated to making mechs, not taking away from game development, that won't be working on the urbs till they're done with the resistance pack, won't negatively affect anything, and in fact bring surplus income for minimal effort, ultimately helping the game overall?

How dare they!?

I mean that anyway all the time spent for this mech is waste time.
Same thing for the 3pv.
I can't imagine what urbie can do in battlefield, into the actual gameplay.
A 64 kph (or 32?) light mech: i don't know where it want to go...
Anyway, if people are happy for this urbie, then i'll happy to destroy it.
That's all.
Always imho.
Peace & love! ;) :D

I bid my Urbanmech UM-R63 in defiance of your claims!

I will crush you like an oversized bug you are!

(quoting MW4 mercs mixed MW2 31st centurary quotes here. if you are offended then defeating my urbanmech should make you feel better. in the likely situation of me defeating you in an honorable 1 verse 1 zellbringing combat I will give you the right to not feel embarrassed about being defeated by a 30 ton light mech that's the "Grain wave" of the lights.)

3PV,I agree with, it's not a thing that was needed.

The Urbs is something a good percentage of the population want.
It's something fun, cheap and easy enough to make, that will make a reasonable return, giving more money for other things.

Apart from taking a week or so of the Mech team, what downside is there really.
Even if you don't like it, objectively, it will help the game.

Personally, I'm going to take out the 63, with its Lbx10 and 3-4T of ammo and go nuts.

They arent going ahead unless they get enough preorders. If people dont put their money where their mouth is then they will drop it.
If the preorders pay for overtime or temp staff/contractors to do the work then it has wasted nothing.

Blame starwars and MW4 for that part of the quote :D

Found it funny. seeing as I would asume you will take anything bigger then an urbie in the zellbringing if we ever do have one... and due to the lack of premium time I got. I would rather get c-bills then do to many private matches outside of clan trials and such. Important stuff ya know.

You mean it's not with all the amazing Robotech cartoons they've been releasing? Like....like....um....they...wait.

HG can suck it; I wish MS would just buy them out so we could have our iconic mechs, but no one wants to take them to court.
