You... Have ased for this:
I want to be the very best
Like no one ever was
To get them is my real test
To pilot them is my cause
I will travel across the land
Searching far and wide
Each Battlemech to understand
The power that's inside
Urbanmech gotta have you all - its you and me
I know it's my destiny
Urbanmech, oh, you're my best friend
In a world we must defend
Urbanmech, a heart so true
Our courage will pull us through
You pilot me and I'll pilot you
Battlemech, gotta have them all
Every challenge along the way
With courage I will face
I will battle every day
To claim my rightful place
Come with me, the time is right
There's no better team
Arm in arm we'll win the fight
It's always been our dream
Urbanmech gotta have you all - its you and me
I know it's my destiny
Urbanmech, oh, you're my best friend
In a world we must defend
Urbanmech, a heart so true
Our courage will pull us through
P.S. Ok, I maybe gone a little over too crazy with lyrics, but hey! It's Urbanmech song now!

Why are you here to complain about it if you don't like it?
Never answered that.
Because I don't need your permission to have an opinion, and would like to share it just as much as you? I dont *need* to make an argument for or against. I don't *have* to engage in a debate about the merits of the 'mech as it stands in MWO. My *opinion* is that buying an UrbanMech for cash is not a sensible choice and because it's an *opinion*, I don't actually have to justify it just because you demand I do so.

But I don't like the idea of putting the Urbie into the game. For me it's exactly the same as for example Squirre Girl in Marvel. Sure it's funny and entertaining, and I get the humour behind it. But there are limits.
As soon as you put something that is popular purely because it is so silly and irrational into the main game in this form, it is going to be used for that same humorous and silly application. In other words... it will become a troll device. Even if this is not the intention, somewhere you are going to get tired of being on the team with the guy who "appreciates the humour of it" and drops in an Urbie to make you 1 mech short.
And no, I am not a pro nor am I remotely good enough to be competitive. But when I play MWO I play it to enjoy mech combat and the concept behind it. I would have supported a separate game mode for the Urbies as a casual mode, or even better would be to incorporate them in some form for PvE or defences on CW. But not as a playable mech... it just doesn't make sense.
I also think the only reason this is going into the game is because there was enough demand to make a quick buck off of it. But this is all my opinion
I don't think you really know the meaning of the word "fun".

My point was, if you're specifically going to take part in a conversation, then take part with intelligent conversation.

Let's look at your thought process here:
1- Goes into an Urbie hype thread
2- Rags on the Urbie
3- Expects NO ONE to comment back, in a PUBLIC FORUM WHERE EVERYONE CAN REPLY
You think the Urbie is a bad financial investment and you want to be vocal about it? Start a thread about it. Don't come to a thread celebrating the release of the urbie looking for a fight. Believe it or not, whether you think you were looking for a fight or not, your actions seem like you're looking for a fight.
Why are you not satisfied with the end result of your endeavours? It's clear that you wanted this.
TL;DR: You can have opinions, and if you are vocal about them, expect rebuttals.

Even 110 km/h might be too much. I think Urbies running at top 90 km/h is enough.

Edit: Also to solve the whole 'negative weight' engine issue, how about giving the Urbie a 'quirk' that automatically installs the required 10 base heatsinks directly into the necessary engines? I don't know much about the engine weights and stuff from a BT perspective, so do you guys think that would work? If it does it could also allow the Urbie to be upgraded to DHS. (Every time I tried mocking something in Smurfy using the Spider there was never any room for a decent amount of DHS)

In Battletech, this is an honest role for Lights, but nowhere near the only one. There are recon, fire support, assassin, ECM-ECCM and counter-harassment Lights as well. The Urbanmech and the Panther are lights designed for heavy fire support in different environments (Panthers for open terrain, Urbies for close). Speed isn't as big an asset for them. Not being seen or getting shot at is.
It's a new role for a lot of people and it will take some getting used to. Welcome it. Welcome the change and variety. And if you think this is weird, wait til you see what the Grasshopper can do (a high-speed heavy with jump jets, LRMs and medium lasers all over.)

The number of you who claim to know my mind is frightening. You guys make money of telling other people what they think in real life? Or is it just on internet forums that you have this staggering psychic power?
I came to the Urbie thread. I ragged on the Urbie. I totally expected comments back, that's why the forum is here. It's a forum. People post. As far as this topic has gone, I'm not the one failing to understand this.
What I didn't expect, and what I think is unacceptable but you seem to think is ok, is resorting to personal insults. If you have a problem with the fact that I don't think the Urbie is worth the time or the effort thats gone into it, either ignore it, or disagree. Accusing me of being a misanthropic gobshite just because I happen to have an opinion that differs from yours? Not really a moral high ground position, you know?

1- I never accused you of being a ... whatever that is.
2- I never claimed to know 100% what you were thinking, but you coming tho this thread, posting, receiving rebuttals, and then being upset that there were rebuttals, says a lot.
3- Please be kind enough to point to the locations where I insulted you, in my post that you've quoted.

It's gonna be moving as fast as a kitfox, if not faster probably. What's slow about that?
I don't get people who complain about it being slow. Did you all forget that we have a mechlab? Or am I the only one not running stock mechs?

1- I didn't say you did.
2- I wasn't receiving rebuttals, I was receiving personal insults, and there really is a difference.
3- Nope, because I never said you called me anything.
Perhaps instead of White Knighting so quickly for Ovion, you should go back and read what was said originally.

It has been a hell of a week, with our boiler going and no heat in - 3 degree C weather, then the repair company we found turning out to be trading under a different name, and various problems with that.
Normally though, and was still my intent in my comments here, is to generalise, not focus (and being my outrage was on the group of people coming into several urbanmech threads to be sparky for no reason) the only way to be offended by such comments is if you feel they apply to yourself.
My wording may have been off here, but that is my usual way.
Additionally, if you want robust replies and conversation, provide some yourself to start with.

I guess the Wolfhound, Raven 2X and 4X, Panther, EVERY clan light mech besides the firemoth, etc is considered useless to them.
Can't wait to get my wolfhound...
