Now don't laugh, but a pack of Urban mechs with AC 10's can take down an Atlas. Like a pack of wolves going after a moose.

No, because the atlas is fast enough to stay outside their range carefully boiling the canned food with his lasers.

Not sure if already posted anywhere but hey I found this in google:

Well, if we're talking about a TT stock AS7-D against say, four TT stock UM-R60s, then it's going to be a close fight.

The Atlas has a speed advantage and a LRM-20, but the rest of its weapons are shorter-ranged than the AC/10 on the Urbies. Ideally, the Urbies would try to stay 271+ meters away and spread out; 4xAC/10 will kill the Atlas before 1xLRM-20 can kill four Urbies.

The Atlas, on the other hand, would want to close to less than 270 meters on the Urbies one by one; giving them a taste of AC/20, SRM-6, and 4xML as often as possible. Shouldn't take more than one or two of those "alphas" to take an Urbie out of commission, and every one down means taking less return fire as well.

In the end though, it all depends on the skill of the pilots and the battlefield layout. It's not a foregone conclusion that the Atlas would actually win.

Your battlefield prowess is exemplary! The incredible joy and laughter during the video captures the essence of the Urbie! Who would have guessed? Urbanmech vs. Clantech at its best...

I'm EXTREMELY excited for this idea. Simply because of the forums. It'd be like the Jenner (S). Except for a whole chassis.

I would highly recommend stock mech mondays. They are awesome.

Seriously, all that would be needed to make an Urban Mech that is actually useful is simple.

Rules were meant to be broken.

In this case the rule of the "max engine size = 1 hex space faster speed from the TT game". An Urban Mech can be just more than a joke mech if you give it decent speed and engine size potential maximum.

That said a 360 degree torso twist would be nice as well. If it had that, then I could accept it going at medium speed around 100KPH.

DO IT PGI!

I wonder if they could make a series of mechs that only have one variant. Not sure how you'd level them up (double or triple the necessary XP?), but it would be cool to see a slew of the less popular or common mechs.

Perhaps we could hold a 'Next Great Battlemech' competition (I got that name from somewhere ... if only I could think where) allowing teams to compete in designing the mighty Urbanmech.

Nope.

What? The original Crusader artwork is an Armored VF-1A from Macross, it's most definitely Unseen.

I stand corrected. Although I thought the later artwork budged it out of the "unseen" category. My mistake.

Unseen were all "re-seen" (if I remember right)
They are still a sticky situation -especially the Macross ones.
