I'm not an Urbie fan myself but why haven't PGI released the Urbie even though they could make heaps of money by doing so?
Any reason why they shouldn't?

Ignore the facts that it will get stomped, outrun by everyone on the battlefield, no 60 rated engine in the mechlab.
What's the real reason? Any ideas why?

Everyone knew it was going to be an April Fools joke. Maybe PGI didn't think to make one but everyone was speculating it would be one so they went ahead and made it. I don't see the problem.

you can tell by just passing glance that it wasn't drawn by flyingdebris for starters. and the polycount makes it look like a cockpit item

You are making yourself looking like 5-year-olds who someone took their toy away from.
This 'mech is a running joke and would be impossible to balance, especially for this kind of game.

Wouldn't it be smarter (or at least make more financial sense) to stop laughing and make some money off of the people wanting the 'mech?

Well there is a Flyingdebris draw of the Urbanmech but it's so full of awesomeness PGI wasn't able to fully capture it even the sligthest yet !!!




P.S: i was one of the ppl who posted "PGI should totally announce the Urbanmech on April 1st! "
Do i want an Urbanmech ingame sure i do, heck i even shout FREE THE URBIES everytime i meet a PGI-IGP staff ingame, but i can understand it's not part of their priority right now moreso due the special engine issues it brings.

I'd just like to point out that there is a very real part of this community that would actually be really upset if PGI DID waste time and resources to put a mech in the game that will certainly be a DOA deathtrap just because some people think it would look cool.

Do people see the irony in complaining about the new Raven hero because its not a mech that has 1/4 the engine, way less hardpoints, and a wider, easier to hit profile?
