Sure thing, just park it on top of a crab!

Ok, I would buy, and even pilot, a King Crab with a UDS (Urbie Defense System) on it...

Considering the AC10 is nearly half the mechs weight, the Urbie should be ridiculously tiny. I mean like this small but with the cannon arm made larger. It should look comically out of proportion with its tiny engine and huge gun.Posted Image

I would assume it's going to be a similar size to the Commando, rather than shoulder-height. Granted, shoulder-height would be closer to canon and make the thing real hard to hit.

[redacted] confirms that UrbanMechs are ~9 meters tall in BattleTech (where BattleMechs are necessarily between 8 and 14 meters tall).
"The UrbanMech lay on its back, nine meters of ferro-fibrous steel and carballoy sprawled across a mound of rubble and twisted I-beams. The Pegasus lay halfway across its legs, which had been twisted far out of alignment by the collision."

For comparison: [redacted] states that the Firestarter in BattleTech (35 tons) is 12 meters tall, [redacted] indicates that the Phoenix Hawk in BattleTech (45 tons) is 11 meters tall, [redacted]of Lethal Heritage indicates that the Victor in BattleTech (80 tons) is 14 meters tall, and both [redacted indicate that the Mad Cat in BattleTech (75 tons) is 10 meters tall.
Likewise, Page 06 of [redacted](the canonical novelization of the MechWarrior 3 storyline) describes the Bushwacker (55 tons) as "standing just shy of eight meters in height", "shorter than the average 'Mech", and "wider than it was tall".

The UrbanMech is a bit on the short side for a 'Mech (9 meters tall, versus most 'Mechs being 10-12 meters tall), but it is not the shortest 'Mech in BattleTech, as the Bushwacker is a full meter shorter, despite being nearly twice the mass of the UrbanMech, AND the canonical UrbanMech is also only a single meter shorter than the canonical Mad Cat (with the latter being 2.5 times the mass of the former).

Given that MWO 'Mechs tend to be larger than their canonical counterparts as a rule, versus MWO Lights being under-scaled relative to MWO Mediums, MWO Heavies, and MWO Assaults, I would expect the UrbanMech to be close to the height of the MWO Spider (especially with the MWO concept art showing it to be not as overly-rotund as some other depictions), and very likely no shorter than the MWO Commando (with the Spider & the Commando not being that far off from each other in terms of height (see here, from here)).

It already can shoot from the rear, You just have to turn a 180.

sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet - looking forward to having this thing in my garage, although I wish it was dropping a little sooner than three months from now, but...better than "never," for sure. :D

Actually, the dropships are actively unloading the urbies right now. They're just going to take 3 months to walk to the battlefield.

Awesome!!! Urbanmech is officially a go!

Check out the other tweets from Russ, as improved support for Urbie may incline them to take a harder look at fan requested mechs.

If you were undecided or hesitant, please consider supporting now or giving the gift of Urbie to others.

From Russ on Twitter:
"Are we happy with the sale - sure - it's been fun. Happy enough to scramble on other player desired classic mechs? I wouldn't go that far."
https://twitter.com/...777359818014721

"But we will see where it ends up by delivery time, could still achieve a higher level of success."

So... it's an 80T PPC + missile assault mech, with a barrel chest...

I don't think we'll see it anytime soon with the Awesome and the Zeus in the game.
Maybe one day though, would be nice to have more chickenwalkers.
