You know, the one where they put convicts and un-citizens in Rocket Launcher-only Urbies and sent them to die by explosion or overheating? Something like a total of 100-something RL tubes?
I can't find it in references, but I'm sure I remember reading about it somewhere.

I do remember reading a reference to one with RL's strapped in all directions - waste of a good Urbanmech if ya ask me!

IIRC, they'd pulled a bunch of scrap Urbies out of the yards and strapped the RL packs on them to press them into desparate service.
They actually weren't "perfectly good" Urbies at all, even for a certian value of what would normally pass for serviceable. Then again, the people chosen to pilot them weren't much more highly thought of ...
I really would like to find the fluff reference for these.

(X180+3LPPC+3MG), 3LPPCs are basically like having a Gauss backed up by MGs.

My 3rd Urbie, can't wait for the 14th of November for the newest one to be injected into my account.
"Remember, remember the 14th of November,
The Urbanmech missile mount bot."
Or something along those lines...

having said that i'll probably go MRMs, or maybe try the srms first since I usually tend to find dire whales tripping over me when i'm trying to brawl... have yet to successfully land on top of one and point my arms as far down as I can and start firing while they try to get me off them.

But seriously, we need to get a community drop together of nothing but stock urbanmechs the day this drops. Private or, if we're all feeling saucy, PUBLIC drops!

Some of us just love rooting for the underdog - like the fellas that keep patching together VW beetles; sure you could have picked something with a bit more performance, but that isn’t the point now, is it?

it's the most stress free mech to bring to the table. most people expect nothing from you and your urbie so if you have a bad match, "no big deal- you're in an urbie" and if you have a good match "hey an urbie just did better than your assault mech." no pressure whatsoever on you to carry anyone else, make for nice relaxing matches when you want to unwind. plus the salt is extra salty if you do kill someone with one.
not to mention the inspirational boost they provide for the rest of the team knowing victory is assured as you have an urbie on your team...well unless the other team has one too.
and of course it's a cute widdle trashcan aren't you widdle urbie? yes you are! now go and play with the big mechs and have fun.

There is truly no greater pleasure than carrying a game after teammates insult your urbie.
Sure they aren't as fast as other lights, but because of their shape, their profile is TINY compared to everything else so they work very well in concert with larger, slower mechs, without be a primary target nor getting in the way of teammates.

Just go buy the K-9. It's only ten bucks. Run around, spin your torso 360 degrees, shoot at things, press L, then you'll understand.
