nice. i also like the fact there were 3 urbies in that match.

I was tinkering some but haven't brought mine out yet. atm I have a max light engine, 2 MRM 10s w/ 2 tons and skill bonuses worth of ammo, 3ML, though debating 3 ER MLs instead to maintain a middle range fighter instead of having to get closer for the MLs.

thought about a pair of MRM 20s but then the tonnage doesn't work out for anything else since we still need those 10 heat sinks. did try keeping the MRM 30 but i forget why i didn't stick to it. heatsinks maybe?

I think MRMs are best choise for UM-R68, just because damage to ton ratio for MRM ammo. Besides, more range = less walking. Of course all that damage doesn't mean effective kills. But damage is c-bills, and (L) urbie have bonus for it. "When you have to make money in the humblest of packages".
I guess MRM40 build could be a thing, same weight and slots as AC10, but i would probably choose MRM30 with extra ammo and engine. Heat could become a problem though. However i already have Javelin for MRMs, and have no LRM light mech, so i will go with 2*LRM10.

one thing I like about MRMs is when I run into something legged and immediately, one might say uncannily aim for the wrong one, I can just wave the MRM stream around until I hit the correct leg. got 5 of my 6 kills in as many matches with it yesterday by leggings. Kobra Kai have the right idea with this mech. also the ER MLs do seem a bit hot for my playstyle so going back to MLs like I suspected I would.

side note- had a match where each side had 3 UM-68s on it. much urbieness was had.

Now for the LRMs. LRM 15/ 3tons of ammo with 2 erml's, tag and a 180 xl. you could do lrm 5's with tag and an erll

I guess maybe some AMS for the first few days also or just have one of your buddies run an ams kit fox or nova

I'm running a troll with XL125 (Dont ask why, i messed up). 2XLRM10's a tag and 2xERSL. Proper gigglesome mech. You actually run away from the enemy facing behind you Constantly raining missiles on them.

So, after more than 4 years in this game and due to PGIs annual rewards programme:
I am on the brink of entering the world of Urbies.

I know - as clan loyalist I should close this particular mechbay door, seal it and throw the key into the big lava pool in terra therma.
And yes, I know too - the Urbies will probably never make it to be listed as a "Meta-Mech", and are regarded by some as an offence against the own team if you choose them.

But, well - it´s really a classic mech.
Moreover, I like the thought of the possible reactions of the Mech-Pilots I eventually manage to kill with the "can".
(which should be something between "OMG, the Urbie killed me!" *facepalm-and-weeping-like-a-child* and *staring-shocked-at-the-game-and-truly-considering-a-quick-and-clean-suicide*).

Maybe I really take the Urbie out of its mechbay for a ride or two.

Yes, come join the world of urbie.

Join the ranks of players that stick a standard engine in the thing and still get kills to add more shame to the other players. Killed by a standard 60 urbie, not just an urbie killed me.

The light with armor buffs to rival some lighter heavies in durability.

Welcome to the Urbanmech.

Yes, you should don the asbestos gloves, fish out the key from the lava pool and take the Urbie out of the 'bay.

It is quite a bit of fun to pilot a trash can into battle and rack up a kill or four.

I have also found that if the PUG I'm dropping with gives me grief for dropping in a Urbie, I do stupidly well. Don't know what it is, but I think my inner try hard is triggered.

Plus, it the easiest mech to desecrate, ahem, decorate with fun decals and colors. March of the crazy Skittles!!!

then we can do a drop with two people in Imps and the other 10 in regular urbies who spam the chat asking mom and dad where they are going, if they're there yet and other proper kids activities. "Charlie 3! no swimming in the forest river you just ate!"
