Yes I do find putting in some work for the betterment of the Dark Born fun. But isn't that the idea with MWO, to have fun?

USPs of the Dark Born:

• A two branched pathway with its structure, "The silk", that accommodates both the casual player and more organised team play.
  
• Both IS and Clan tech accommodated.
  
• Alternative Clan trial system that incorporates more social considerations.
  
• Orientation programme being currently tested to help prepare and train pilots for the Dark Born life. Both Veterans and newer players
  
• RIG system that helps pilots define builds and play various Mech roles to unified unit standards without prescribing Mech use for the organised teams.
  
• Codex system to record extra social, preference and pilots stats data.
  
• Upcoming loyalty and internal bartering system with chits. Which can allow with the accumulation of efforts and contributions to unit interests culminating in Ultimate Game Cards. It also allows for an internal social currency.
  
• Future further specialised training as ongoing content.

The Dark Born Bartering and Loyalty system has been brought online for use.

This system rewards the members of the Dark Born with contributions in various ways that are of mutual benefit to the unit. This includes at the present time: recruiting, training, mentoring, other admin, length of service and trials. Other rewards may be identified in the future that also recognise unit contributions in various ways which may also include objectives and performance related rewards in Community Warfare.

It is also a social bartering tool. Chits that are rewarded to members can be transferred and exchanged to other Dark Born pilots. As such this internal unit currency can be applied for various socio-economic reasons left to the imagination and practicalities of the members themselves.

Other future ideas may also include additional game play content like a lottery system.

The culmination of a certain number of chits however can then be used to redeem Ultimate Game Cards which can then be used to help purchase MC for MWO. So like Air miles you can consider Chits to be like "Mech Mile Points" where the loyalty towards the unit is rewarded.
