Im runing a centurion right now with an lrm10 and some med lasers. I would think my best bet would be to build missile boats. But yeah, anyone have any tips?
Thanks

Other than that, I'd really recommend that you fix this GPU of yours with a Geforce GTX 750Ti or something equivalent from AMD. It's not terribly expensive and brings your Office PC (presumably) up to speed. If that piqued your interest, then you may want to read up a bit on it -> http://www.pcper.com...-PCs-Gaming-PCs
Good hunting.

Take any non-brawling assault and you can play just fine. If you want a more specific recommendation, Stalkers are basically perfect for this.

This will tank like a Cataphract, so long as nothing gets behind you.
LRM Centurion.
The slow speed should be cooperative with your frame rate, but remember positioning is everything.
Faster alternative.
Remember despite being high in ammo, it is still limited.

I'm currently running this game on a laptop that doesn't even deserve the moniker "toaster" it's a bloody POTATO! My FPS on a good day with EVERYTHING turned to the absolute lowest settings is around 16-23 (when I first started it was 7-14 at best, once the graphics were better tuned by PGI I jumped all the way to 23, my scores went through the roof.). I still do fine in speedy light mechs (my main weight class) Passive roles would be better for you though if you don't want to go through that baptism by fire.
For LRM boats I recommend you eventually get the module "Target Decay" and then upgrade to the advanced version. It will allow you to retain lock-on for three more seconds after the enemy avoids spotters and visual.

Also it's probably a bad idea to drop a new GPU into a system without thoroughly researching its existing components first. The CPU could bottleneck it, the case might not have the space or cooling capacity, etc. The power supply might not have supplemental PCI power, or worse, it does but the rating is insufficient and the PSU ends up blowing up (firsthand experience).
My machine, for reference.

I've been noodling with the cent build (actually the AL, I had just traded in after getting all the basic skills on the A). I've been doing much better focusing on LRMS and poking away with an ERLL.
So two questions: Using the CAT trial mech, I've noticed I'm a pretty high priority target; have any other LRM boaters noticed this? Do you think I'd be a little more incognito driving a KTO-18?
Also, do you consider using a combo of LRMs and direct fire long/medium range weapons viable in a fire support role? Isn't Artemis improved by maintaining an LOS?
Last: HAHA this is the new compy, I was playing back before the Cataphract was released, then MWO started overheating and shutting down the computer. Workin on gettin a proper gaming rig, but until then, I'll just have to save up for some ram, launch some lurms, and finish school. Cooking just doesn't dish out the OT like it used to.

CPLT-A1 Here's a basic LRM boat A1 that can fend for itself.
CPLT-C1
Here's a C1 variant.
CPLT-C4
And a C4 one.
Also, notice that I forgot to put BAP in two of them. That was an oversight on my end, as I drafted these out as I was writing this post. The whole point is for these blueprints to give you the general idea of how an LRM boat should behave. In 12 v 12, you can afford to have nothing but LRMs since your team will make sure that no one gets close to you without horrible death being a side effect.
However, while Pugging on dropping in less than 12 comps, you NEED defensive weapons.

XL275 Variant:

XL250 Variant:

The 1N can be build in a similar way but the tonnage you save by not being able to equip a 4th LRM10 can be put into defensive systems to increase survivability.

An XL is pretty much mandatory on an LRM boat, because the combined weight of multiple LRM10 launchers and a reasonable amount of ammo would simply require too many tradeoffs when used with an STD engine for the 'Mech to operate reliable enough.
