I have been playing the game on my laptop for a while, OS was MS 8.0, and it ran fine, Since upgrading to 8.1 I get the same crash. I log in then the timer button spins for a few seconds freezes and then dumps me out. I have put in a ticket and attached al of the logs but have gotten nothing in return other than they received it. I resent it and haven't heard anything at all now. I really enjoyed the game but cannot play now, I was going to purchase MC and now happy I didn't.

Same thing here, I never really got to enjoy the game's full potential. And this crash made it where I can't even play. I just want to play the game problem free.

Hey everyone,

Apologies for the delayed responses from our support system. At this moment I am opening and responding to any tickets submitted by posters in this thread regarding these crashes. Please stay tuned to your e-mail inbox's, as you will receive ticket updates very soon.

I will hopefully update this thread later with further information once I'm assured that the potential fixes are resolving the issue.

EDIT: Can anyone who has not yet submitted a ticket regarding this issue please e-mail support@mwomercs.com with the results of a DirectX Diagnostic attached? Please give it the subject heading 'MechLab crash'.

How to obtain and attach a DxDiag
- Press Windows Key + R
- Type DxDiag
- Click Save All Information. If prompted about WHQL drivers, click no.
- If the Save All Information button is not present, simply click on Run (32/64 bit)DxDiag. The Save All Information button will appear after the diagnostic.
- Log file location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\Bin32\PatcherLogs
- Attach the file directly to your support ticket. Please do not copy/paste the contents in the body of your message as it will get truncated.

Heres what you do:

you necro'd a thread from 2014, to give, well, what I consider terrible advice ...

use Norton ? why your pc isn't blocking what you want to do enough ?
ccleaner ? how about don't install every random piece of spyware you come across ....
temp files ? seriously, if your that low on space that temp files will make the game playable, you need more space ...
restart ? seriously ... that's like a play out of the 'gimme five minutes to think' playbook ...

You sound very ignorant right now. I "Necro'd" nothing, this thread was never solved. Look elsewhere if you dont have this problem, why would you reply to this without trying it, esp if you dont have trouble.
Ccleaner is build to clean the computer, YOU probably download third parties like the computer illiterate trash you are. For you, you clearly have absolutely no knowledge of norton if you cant use it past its file blocking feature... haha! As for temp files, space has absolutely NOTHING to do with it. I have 32gb of ram and i had trouble until i thought of this. A file in the temp files directory is being called and is clearly corrupted, by clearing temp files, you reinstall the file. And what really reveals how stupid you are is when you mock my suggestion to restart.

Btw, you salty piece of ****, that was not advice, that is not even a suggestion, its a working solution. Of course, you seem to get on the forum to specifically look for case studies that do not concern you, so you can mock people who solve the problem.

awww yeah, how many extra frames did you get from all those ... I may be a little salty on any day, but your coming across quite bi-polar too buddy ... and I stand by what I said ... 'too me' that sounds like what tech support tell you to do, while they are trying to think of something better to do ...

I don't tend to need things like CCleaner, because I don't install any piece of random software I see, and my browsing history is pretty lame these days ... I must be getting old ... its usually the porn sites that really mess with you ... I guess, you might need to run them more often than some ... but, if you don't provide any context whatsoever, if your post said that you had 64 gb in your temp files, on a 256 gb SSD ... it might 'seem' more useful ... and my experience with Norton, since forever, has been that it 'performs' worse than others .... maybe its more effective ... but I guess that again comes back to how high your exposure to risky activity is ... and while were here, a dude in another thread is having issues with MWO taking up his whole 16 gb ... my experiences have been fine with 4gb, so how much of your 32 does the game use ...

a restart is only useful, at all, if you've changed something about the system, usually, if windows recommends it to you, you should probably get around to it before you expect performance ... but the rest of the 99%, its not going to make whatevers causing your problem to go away ... if its code or configuration, its still going to be there when you restart ... hardware wont budge much either ...

honestly I'm glad the devs themselves are not bothering to read this tripe ... they work slow enough, don't give them extra tasks, its like making Charlie lance run the wrong way ....

normally, you would start a new thread if you had something significant to offer ... but looking at your post ... 5 lines, half filled ... yeah, I guess it would have looked weird ... and if you think that's salty ... you should drop by my mates @ /r/straya ... all us bi-polar bogans are a bit like that ... and you sound like you could join the crew, fit right in yknow ... just need to pour some possum piss in, and you'll be right to go, mate ... classic forumwarrior online ... oh, btw, nice touch liking your own post ...
