In my Atlas, a couple of matches have happened where a mech will run up to me face to face and unload into my torso. However, when I return fire with my AC and SRMs the don't register any hits and I get creamed. It's not just Atlasses I have seen the same thing with other mechs. If you get right in their face, their weapons wont do damage or only minimal damage. Any one else see this?

When two or more 'mechs start touching each other, the server has a hard time knowing how to apply things like HSR so detection may become "wonky".

Just to let you know, it is illegal to touch mechs under 40 tons.

HAHAHA - OH HELL YEAH GOOD CALL
Ok, back to business. OP; Strangely enough (Its not really that strange everyone knows there are hit reg issues), but in a match I played yesterday and really payed attention to the shot placement of my lasers, I was trying to hit a stationary Centurion in the leg, and on my screen I was striking the totality of the of the leg under the knee. However I got the kill, by destroying the Center Torso!
That's pretty bad I must say.

It doesnt matter if the mechs are touching or not....I once put two DUAL ac20 shots in the rear of a non-moving shut d down shadowhawk at 120 meters...well with range. NOTHING registered...he powered up with completely fresh armor...took 2 more shells from me that did 0 damage and ran away. Even he said the hits registered on his end, but did 0 damage....I'm honestly not sure what those 0 damage hits are, beyond lost hit packets to the server.
Then there are other times where i clearly miss on my screen, then 2 seconds later "Bagheera has killed so and so"
Well Alright then.......

its really bad with fast light mechs, i swear i will fire my med lasers with death knell 100+ times (which would work out to be 100X20(4ML)=2000 damage) rarely do i break 500 damage in knell

When that mech shutdown while moving he stopped in one place. Your client, getting the information later than it actually happened paints him in another place. You shoot where you think he is but he's not there.
Basically, long story short, aim further forward on moving mechs. On a shutdown mech you probably have to aim further behind where you see him. Your leads are based on your ping.
Touching other mechs still throws everyone out of sync with the server as well so no more bad touch. But touching is where you can find proof of people being out of sync. You run into another mech and all of a sudden both you and he are warping around as the server informs you of where you really are.
