Am I the only one who finds this totally lame? Like d-bag territory?
I haven't been playing this long, but I've already run into a number of players that think it's ok to give away the coordinates of the last surviving friendly mech just to end the game quicker.
To clarify...these last surviving mechs are actually trying to fight the other team...maybe not head-on but trying to be sneaky and get more shots in for a higher score.
A few things that I see wrong with this:
- it's completely selfish to ruin someone else's game just so you can play yours
- you choose to play a "one life" game. Other players shouldn't suffer because of your poor choice if it doesn't suit you
- if it's 1v8+, chances are the guy probably won't win, but he can still get more dmg or maybe some blown components to get a higher score and gain more c-bills/xp. Taking away that chance makes you something that rhymes with sick
On the other hand, there are players who will hide on the edge of the map and shutdown to let the timer run out, sometimes as much as 10 minutes. (or players that just avoid all contact with the other team and won't engage)
I asked one guy why he was doing it, and he replied because he didn't want to die and lose points...wait, what points?
We lose points when we get killed in a match? I searched for that in the forums but didn't turn up piddly.
In these circumstances, I kind of lean towards it being "okay" to give coordinates for team mates not willing to actually fight the other team even if it's 1v12.
But if the guy is actually trying, let him try and let him play his game.

Giving Away Your Team Mate's Coordinates To The Enemy

If you see people doing this to players that are still alive, take a screenshot and report them.
Yes it's a dbag move to go hide and shutdown and make everybody wait 10 minutes for the end of the match, but not everybody goes and hides for the sake of preserving their KDR. I had a teammate in my group who ended up as the last Raven vs 3 crit assaults on the other team. He found a perfect spot to shutdown where they would have walked right past and he very likely would've taken all out.
Unfortunately, somebody on our team didn't see the ambush he was staging, and not only gave the coordinates to the other team, but described the location he was at and what was near it. He had just enough time to power up to have the first assault alpha him before he could move, turning a potential victory into a defeat.
Now when it comes to a clearly disconnected player, I don't really see the harm in letting them know. Sometimes people end up crashing halfway through the match and aren't in any starting spawn point where you can easily state, "DC at Spawn." I'm sure most people won't argue that as long as it says they're disconnected it's relatively safe to give their coordinates away to avoid a very long and boring wait for the team to try and find the disconnected mech that could be anywhere.
I should note that regardless if it even says they're disconnected, it's still against the rules, and despite the fact that the entire reasoning behind that is to avoid accidentally giving a live player away, you still run the risk of somebody reporting you for it.

they right to do it, when you are alone when the other team have 9 active mechs you waste other people time.
ether you where lasy, cowardly or just screwing around.

Yep, If that survivor is fighting or doing something other than having fun at disco, you can't give his cordinates, It's against code of conduct that everyone accepts if they want to play, and should be reported. I tend to give cordinates to players that are disco or don't answer when asked are they playing.
But as others have suggested here , there should be option for all the rest to decide if the game is lost. Skirmish is a pain in the ass some times..

It´s against the "Code of Conduct" so simply take a screenshot and report them.

Your wrong.
I have out capped other teams or beaten the last lance by hiding, capping or using hit and run tactics.
There was one game where someone like you reported my position. (Didn't matter I still won the game.) I reported them and PGI made them disappear.
It's treason. it violates the COC. And it re enforces my belief that General chat should be removed.
Just like I will get you removed if you do it to me.

As per the griefing rules, giving away a team mates position, also called team treason, is against the rules of the game. Any player doing so can and should be reported to support@mwomercs.com.
In such a report, please include the following informations, if you have them available:
- name of the player
- map played
- date, time and timezone
- type of rule violation
- other players involved (witnesses)
- screenshots
- links to videos or other material that might prove usefull to the GMs
Discussing these things on the forums will not solve the situation. It might instead advertise it to other, to do so as well.
That's why I'm closing this thread down.
