It is their max range that is getting a decrease not their optimal range.

So the Clan ER LL will still have the optimal range of 810 and the max range will be 1140 or something like that. So they are still better than the IS ER LL where they start dropping damage at 650 or whatever their range is. Sure they will hit up to 1300 but they are still doing no damage.

I think with the changes it just makes clan lasers need to be closer to fire instead of extremely far away. It will hopefully make sniping matches less snipey and more brawly.

That's not so bad, although I still dislike the notion of nerfing the Clans again. It's getting old.

Just did the PTS and can confirm that the optimal range is the same on all clan weapons. It is just their max range that got nerfed. I really didn't feel any difference in the way I played the game on the PTS. As long as you lock targets you'll be fine with lasers. I don't understand why it doesn't work like that with all weapons but whatever.

I dusted off my QKD-4H, aka "Typhoon," last night. First match out, I scored 600+ damage and four kills.

Man, I sure do love my Quickdraws!

The Brethren went 3-0 last night with just a 4-man, consistently beating a group of SRoT pilots in the process. Join up today!

Tonight is the night that we have a lot of stuff going down.

Firstly we have Irons CW raid night. This goes on for as long as people want to do CW. I might join in a few myself.

Secondly we have Lord Curm doing his drawing for the Warhammer and Maurader. I hope I become chosen.

Last but not least is the duel between Lord Curm and Cats, as well as a duel between Nightmare and Todo. This should be a good one!

I talked to the salvage dealer and he's only willing to offer me a buck fifty apiece for Todo's and Cats' Mechs. Apparently, those aren't worth much more than their pilots.

The frustrating thing is, I had planned to use the funds from the salvage to buy them each a decent funeral. Guess I'll have to go find a shallow bank to cave over their bodies instead and hope it doesn't rain for a while.

The Brethren just had its first ever Mutiny! Of course, the whole thing was planned out and roleplayed, so it wan't legit in the sense that people are rebelling and leaving or whatnot. It was an awful lot of fun though! We all brought our Pirate face, had a duel, had some treachery from both sides, and generally beat each other to a pulp!

After the mutiny on the same night we did some CW drops. I only did one drop but I heard that we won all the battles that The Brethren dropped in. I hope to do a few more this Friday as I believe we will be doing regular CW drops on Fridays from now on.

Yeah, we smoked the enemy for several ROFLStomp drops. To be honest, we were kind of surprised that we didn't get our Unit tag on the planet since there was only one other 12-Man attacking. I guess they just had a couple more drops than us though.

Friday nights are our official CW drop nights now. If you're looking for a Unit, then his us up!

Here is a vid where Panda and I do two man drops with the new weight restrictions.



There is definitely a change in things as we have many matches overflowing with light mechs. This could be due to the new group weight restrictions but most likely it is due to the Wolfhound being released to those who bought it and also the Arctic Cheetah being released for c-bills.

Perhaps in a week or two we will see how the weight restrictions play out.

How are the new tonnage limits treating everyone? They just updated it so that 12 mans now have 630 tons max. 2 man groups can now use whatever they want so that's nice.

@Luigi: tonnage limits have dropped again. 12-mans are down to 600 tons max now. :(

Edit: I suppose we could always take 12 Hunchbacks, Enforcers, or Centurions...

We could also just try to get 3 four man groups going and try to sync drop with 12 Stalkers/Battlemasters. That would be ridiculous if it could be pulled off.

I would love that, actually. It'd be against the ToS though, so it'd be a reportable offense. Still, it'd be kind of funny.

Hopefully, PGI will realize just how broken the new system is and change it back.
