And that's the problem - Disconnects should be counted as dead.
Sure, discos only win matches rarely - although I have lost a match to this on Conquest and it is garbage - but it is far more common for people to have to waste their time hunting down the last disconnect since that can happen on any game mode and is required to win the game (unless you just wait for the time to end.)
This is a bug - I'm pretty sure disconnects used to count as dead several months back - and it should be fixed since it just looks sloppy.

I posted it because it was both frustrating and funny. Yes, I think it is a PGI derp, but I'm not screaming for fixes. It's an obvious hole though.
