Would still rather a 3:4:3:2 set up, personally. That said, any limit to assault or light stampedes is welcome in my book.

just so i can be clear, what's the deal when 3/3/3/3 comes out?

i only run assault so... i'll have to wait 10 minutes to find a match every time?

The whole point is to force you to choose between waiting a very long time with an Assault or waiting a shorter time with something else.

Lore-wise, it should be 2 assaults max, 3 heavies max, rest filled with mediums/lights.

The whole point is to ensure matches are weighted evenly. Increased wait times might be a byproduct of that. Lately though, it appears there are more heavies running around than there are assaults.

People didn't like what PGI did to Highlanders and Victors so it's back to Cataphracts and Jagermechs.

I agree with him actually...

I own 1 assault and 1 medium and 1 light just incase I have to swap over, but I'm a heavy pilot all the way. Don't like piloting the others!

If we had Role Warfare, we wouldn't "need" things like tonnage limits or 3/3/3/3 to get people to stop spamming mechs over 60 tons.

Bingo.

Edit: I should say that 3/3/3/3 will also bring it's own balancing problems and challenges and changes the direction the different weights of mechs should be balanced. In comparison to Tonnage Limits I do prefer 3/3/3/3 as it is more flexible and the reason provided about tonnage limits massively restricting the options for the last few mechs by the MM make sense to me, though I may do a piss poor point of getting it across.

Both solve weight discrepancies, yet that shouldn't be a problem in the first place as Role Warfare gives all mechs an equal weight in terms of their effectiveness, strengths and weaknesses.

Lacking Role Warfare created the problem.

tried it and i didn't like it. i always liked assault mechs since i was introduced to battletech
i don't like how (badly) i do on the other classes nor do i care to improve with said mechs, just not interested

i do agree it is a pain when people bring four light mechs or four assaults into a match (4 ddc atlas together anyone?)
but i see that as a problem with letting premades play vs pugs. just make premade vs premade for anybody that wants to play it. if there isn't enough players then make all premade matches 8v8.

4 premades in there. done.

if you want to balance tonnage don't do it by class, do it by team weight

besides it's a roleplay thing, the pilot i play is an assault pilot, by forcing me to choose other mechs you're undermining my ability to get into this narrative

Yes patch, Russ posted most of the details on twitter, and I think there is a Reddit post with them as well.

Well...I mean most of the details are in the updates from Paul and Matthew Craig...so I can't really beat them up too much.

It's just not as succinct.

Sorry I'm at work, can't do much with Reddit and Twitter.

There is a stickied post, it's a dev twitter tracker.

Should have the information.

Really they are doing a much better job at making sure we can find the information on the boards, this is not something I'd be getting riled up over.
