I use Internet Explorer 11, the default industry standard. After many months I still have to manually type a smurfy link or image link. I still can't quote a previous poster in a reply.

These are serious problems that need fixing.

I said "industry" standard not average joe/moron standard. You know how Chrome gets on everyone's computer? I do. Google packages it with everything under the sun and nobody bothers to read the EULA.

I just had another Adobe player update today and it again wanted to install Chrome. No thanks.

Google is just as evil as Microsoft if not more so. All hail big data</sarcasm>.

Microsoft holds the Battletech software IP so whose rear should we be kissing again? Google doesn't care about giant mechs.

I want Sony to fight and destroy Microsoft in the console wars.
I want Google to fight and destroy Apple.
I want Samsung to build more Android devices that weaken Apple.

Microsoft has been messing with engine behavior in their recent IE versions. This has caused web sites that work normally with IE 9 and older to no longer work with IE 10 and above.

I'm sorry that apparently you are only capable of using IE 11, but this is not a new issue as you know ... and the solution has been posted in every single thread like this.

Use a different browser, or use the alternate-mode workaround.

Thing is, those are the things the "industry" looks at.
When I ocasionally build a website, I look at that, write for Google first, and that almost always translates well to Firefox and Safari as well, then I write for IE, if I can't comment it to work for IE (4 different versions of IE, because 9,10,11 don't always respond the same way),without bloating my code and dragging the whole site down, or if writing for IE screws up the rest, then that 10% isn't worth accommodating to.

Good way to look at it is, if the website works for 90% of the browsers, than your "Industry standard" isn't worth much if it can't do what everyone else does.

he is somewhat correct. Although i cant seem to find the actual breakdown on version ATM. Although I will verify that quoting doesn't work with IE11 on Win7 x64 (just tried, bored while working w00t!)

Nice Job making everyone who uses Chrome out to be a Moron - way to get folks discussing your topic alienated to it. With skills like that you should work for microsoft maybe. That attitude is what cost them the top slot for IE in the first place.

I am a Web Admin for 14 different sites, made by 9 different companies. 11 of them have issues with IE NONE have issues with Chrome or FIrefox a few glitch on Safari and one has an Opera fettish. Not proof I know, but a strong indicator that MS still doesn't understand how to program a web browser for todays internet. PGI has more important things to fix in MWO than covering up the mistake of another companies software.....

LOL, our 32 bit browsers are working fine.

How's that 64 bit working out for you?

I love how nobody thinks this should be fixed. How about PGI fixes the problem instead of me supporting google? I am their customer why is my request not valid?

I will look to kill you on the battlefield Roadbeer. TK or otherwise.

And I love how two people who work in the industry have told you that your "Industry standard" is anything but, and is a pain to code for that is just as likely to break the code you use for other browsers. The problem is IE, not the website.

Would you please tone it down everyone?

There is an issue with this website and IE11 and this has been reported. That's the topic of this thread. The thread was not created to discuss if the IE11 is a bad browser or a good one.

@Roadbeer: You are sympathizing with the wrong party. Do you see yourself in them? Remove yourself from that perspective.

As I'm not much of a regular on the forums, I'm at least glad that the issue (as small as it is) is known, I for one would like to be able to quote posts again... as I have no idea why I could ~1 year ago and then one day suddenly could not. ;)

I'm honestly not sure why you haven't locked the thread. Outside of what you said, there isn't much else to talk about except for how bad IE is. The only real work around is to, well, use a different browser.

Sounds like it started after one of the forum updates, if we know what the software powering it was I would stat up a dev board and test it out and see if it happens stock.
