There is no integrated voice chat in the game. You need to use someting like teamspeak.

There are some teamspeak channels listed on the forum, I would check around.

I think this is the right link...

But good luck finding your randomly assigned team on coms. This is why I would LOVE to see a lobby system where you can play with the same group more than once. Then we might ACTUALLY see some coordination and teamwork. MWO keeps touting how important it is, but they give us absolutely no usable tools to make this happen.

Integrated voice chat would be the best thing for pgi to focus on delivering now. Since launch new players are leaving as fast as they arrive when they realise they can't communicate with their team without typing and dying.
Please add it to the game with enough features to mute the trolls. That is all. :-)

In game VOIP should be a high priority for PGI right now.

There are so many players that can not and/or will not use third party VOIP. If they are concerned about solo player retention, they absolutely must have in-game VOIP.

In Game VOIP is (I think) another one of those things that require UI 2.0. I'm too lazy to go searching about but I do recall the devs mentioning it was one of its intended features. Though I don't know if it will be available initially when (if) it goes live.

Personally I'm looking really forward to it so I can reap in pleasure getting berated by the guy who died first about how much I suck.

Drop 12 mans. Same team every match with a good chance of same opponents every match as well. :D

Would recommend comstar teamspeak (http://mwomercs.com/...e-chat-servers/. Lots of people to join in 4 mans with and a lot clans in their if looking for a larger group to play with.

Pgi has said its low priority to them (I think it was one of the Ask devs Q&A, too lazy to search quote).

VOIP should have been in from day one. You cannot say you sell a game that requires teamwork to win and then fail to provide a useful way to communicate with your teammates. VOIP has been a standard part of teamwork based games for at least ten years. It is inexcusable that a game "released" in 2013 does not have an important feature that many games in 2002 had.

And when players compensate for this shortfall by making "premade" groups using 3rd party voice over I.P. programs they are lambasted by a certain vocal portion of the "solo" or "puggie" set and blamed for every loss or lopsided game or poorly matched teams or incliment weather or whatever is the popular gripe that thread.

I would love for MWo to have intergrated comms available to teams and a pre and post match lobby system.I am tired of the frustration of not being able to communicate effectivley with my team mates.

This is a needed feature.

This isn't how TS works..... one forms/joins a 4 man FIRST........then drops.

I understand the "will not" (think they are wrong, but that's another post), but what do you mean "can not"? If they can not use a 3rd party program, how could they use a built-in one?

The only thing I can think of they think 3rd party means potential for "bad things" (patent pending). Which is silly since what makes PGI safer than TS? By that logic, MWO is a 3rd party since you are running Windows (most likely) which is a MS product, so you (1st), MS (2nd), MWO (3rd) so what's wrong with adding TS/Vent (4th)?

Not trying to be an a-hole here, just trying to either figure out what I am missing, or help some people. For example, I never have, nor ever will, use Skype due to the way they used to (possibly still do) operate. So I get the objections to certain types of software etc, just not seeing it here.

There is in theory in game chat with C3, but my understanding is it's spotty.

There are plenty of teamspeak chat servers out there. I think the bigger issue is many folks don't like to chat with random people (and I fully understand that). Find a server you like. Each house has their own hub, that's a good place to start if you've got a particular allegiance, or you can just try them out and see which one fits you.

Been using c3 extensively as I (mistakenly) thought it was the "Official" client early on. Works perfectly well for me and my buddies and I learned something recently that surprised me.

Apparently (I say that as I have not tested it it yet) if you have c3 installed and running then if you drop on the same side of someone with the same credentials (C3 installed & running) it drops you into a channel together automatically.

If that proves to be true (Dev/mod can you comment?) thats almost usful. However as i have been playing nearly a year been using C3 for about 10 months and only just heard about this. Its kinda sad that the lack of documentation makes a fairly good idea so pitifully underused.

But for now find a voice com you like and team up is the golden rule for better than simple PUG play. If your into C3 or want to give it a try goto dropship451 and its insane host madmac will take you in and regale you of his adventures.

C3 is the semi official beta. though I gave up trying to find people there, not that it bothers me, in pug life, voip just becomes chaotic with no disipline, abuse shouted out at players usually by the bad ones, unlike proper company/regimental ones, organised by third parties.

Things maybe get better once UI2 is up and running

Most "integrated" voice chat systems I have seen in other games tend to suck bad.
That is why most people are on Team Speak, Mumble or Vent. With Team Speak the client side is free to download, only the server has to be paid for.
The Com Star Team Speak public server is good for finding pick up groups as is the NGNG Team Speak server.

Yes, it would be so much better if they at least gave us a grouping system and a friends list.
