A more information based news update regarding initiatives at the Dark Born:

The Dark Born is centered around recognising and supporting two distinct paths within its player community. These are the Casual game play (Assassin Path) and the more organised Team game play (Rogue Path). This allowing a player choice driven process for players to experience being part of the Dark Caste soceity. Thus a player can join as a member of the Dark Born and still enjoy freedoms to play solo, 2 - 4 man pug drops, 12 man casual fun, 12 man origanised team fun and orientate their interests based on their preferences. There is even provision for more casual players to dip into the more organised game play if they respectfully follow the needed conventions and protocols required to run more organised and competative groups.

Forum tools, training and other provisions then providing a more unified approach over and above and localised dynamics to help to perform the needed cohesion for various purposes. These include a soon to be introduced orientation programme designed to help provide the minimal amount of understanding both in pilot terms and concepts aswell as the operations of the Dark Born. We have a role checker (to be named) to give a more unified approach to standardise builds to be used in team play but without having to identify specific Mechs or Meta though does recognise potentials here.

This helps with providing conventions and minimising the overhead of micro managing mech builds in preperation of drop needs. Those these kind of standards or conventions are only optionally required of the casual players but who may still find these guides as useful tools to help them should they wish to use specialised piloting styles (some they probably use anyhow).

Then we will be looking into ongoing modular training in addition to practice, workshops and drills for organised play that either path can equally feel they can choose to particpate in if they think it will be of benefit to them. Future training provision then may include more advanced training to assist with helping some recognised individuals reach their potential as Drop Commanders. But this will be a more involved and committed process with future designs to the Dark Born training needs.

The orientation programme we soon to have underway then is not like a driving test or a Trial of Blooding with a pass/fail process, but more as a way of ensuring a supported and progressive understanding of being a member of the Dark Born community. Thus it is a temporary period of mutual benefit that helps to support the player in joining the community if it seems to be a good fit for them, which we hope would be the case for the majority of pilots assuming interest of this element of lore in BT appeals to them.

The Trial of Blooding is a more ceremonial affair in the Dark Born with players joining structured teams as part of a social process that helps to recognise the empowered capabilities of Team captains to build teams that will work cohesively within the unique leadership abilities of that Captain. Thus it is more of a social process that helps to empower and be sympathetic to a Captain being able to achieve his/her goals working and recognising with the dynamic and variable aspects of players themselves. Which for the organised groups for CW will be working to goals or objectives as applied to the more strategical directives best applied here.

However at all times the player chooses their own path as to how they can best play and contribute to the Dark Born and does propose that there is not one way in being able to explore and enjoy the experience of MWO from a Dark Caste or IS outcast perspective.

The Dark Born is thus a unit of inclusion and excellence as needs with equal opportunites based on meritas and player preference. It will also due to having fairly flexible purposes both support numerous opportunities for game play come CW and other community interests as well as supporting all aspects of both IS and Clan tech use as allowed by the game mechanics.

Aye be good, but there were about 200 people on at one point from various Mech units so understandable why we didnt get much of a chance to drop together. We'll make a special trip if your dropping anchor to the Brethren channel to make up for it.

Maybe the strapline should read:

"He wanted to be first before the wall when the Revival Comes"

or

"Would you like us to paint your cockpit windows black" / "Cigarette?"

An emotional welcome to new member "GunAndRun" who is NinthShadow's father. It really brings it home as a unit leader when you can help foster these kind of social arrangements:
