Haven't gotten to manipulating the paint scheme yet, as I need some input on how to do a grid pattern. But was GIMPing the ingame model to make my ideal "Hero" Mech version of the GRF-1N, my favorite non-HG design in the Battletech.

the color scheme is taken from one of Bishop's ancestors, who flew in an ancient Terran Blue Water Navy Fighter Wing, in the early 21st Century.

What hard points you thinking on this supposed hero mech? I see at least 3 missile hard points, and one energy?

And I like the concept of taking some historical paint schemes and getting them into the game. Real history, or BT history...

6 total hardpoints. I am sticking in line with the other GRFs.

the Fianchetto
1x Energy (RA) PPC
2x Energy (LA) MLaser x2
2x Missile (RT) SSRM2 x2
1x Missile (LT) aLRM15
280XL
3 JJ
11 DHS
Armor 368/370

I run the build on my GRF-1N(P) and love it. This is with my "ideal" hardpoint placement. And cosmetically, I think it beats the standard GRF. I also use the torso JJs from the Wolverine, which IMO, just fit the look of the GRF better.

Your skills in Gimp are improving sir!

Select the empty space with the magic wand (Fuzzy Selection), go up to select and then go to grow and increase by 1 or 2 pixels. Click ok then click delete.

Should rid you of the white outline around your mech.

=)

I like it.

That's eerily similar to the color scheme I use on all my Phoenix mechs. I went with that because Skull Squadron from Robotech and a big FU to Harmony Gold. :)
