I believe the technical term for the amount of money raised is a metric crapton

The ID # are nonlinear. In other words, ID # 15,038 does not equate to 15,038 unit sales. They have raised over 1 million in capital so far, see HawkEye's thread.

Dont ask where I heard but seriously all the money, they raised just went to expenses and
they need more for further development.

to make it more awesome

We need more legendary founders pack owners and those who have enough money to burn away should gift Legendary packs to players who cannot afford it to support the game further;

Well as for me I will be buying legendary on 7th-9th July and then buy one for another account in August.
I also encourage Elites and Veterans to convert Legendary as well.Contributions of Legendaries wont be forgotten and I guarantee that ,also dont mind colors and cosmetics in forums *spoilers:P*

HawkEyes stats are from 27/6/12, and he only took in the numbers from Forum accounts. You didn't have to link it to your account afaik, if you just bought it via the Newsletter.
I would really appreciate a link to the Dev post stating it, if you have it.

Hey Everyone i'm mostly a lerker in the forums, but i keep seeing everyone post how much money PGI is making from just the founders pack alone. I could be overly sensitive to the part due to my career, but i think people are over looking the huge cost of setting up the datacenter that will support this game. The cost of this gear alone without considering the cost of development, or the trade shows they go to to generate media coverage will run them more than the total income from the founders program from now until its over. I run a modest datacenter for a small medium company with 8 offices around the US, and if i had to build mine from scratch it would be in the neighborhood of 2 to 3 million. I dont know the exact details for the hardware they intend to run this on, but i can put forth a very educated guess, and they will be spendin more than me :).

Anyhow just though i would throw that out there while im bored on a saturday morning with no Beta invite  , ohh and i throw one more log on the fire :( .... I dont at all feel entitled to beta access till august 7th......althouh i check my email for it everyday, and lo into the site hoping that my Beta Status changes. Lol

happy legging everyone.

I'm sure its between $1M and $2M at this point.

In other words. . . it's just a fraction of the money they've already invested in the game at this point. . . let alone what they need to continue development and buy hardware moving forward.

One server depending on type can easily cost a million dollars. My company actually drops about $100M a month on hardware. . . but obviously they won't have anything like the server farm we do.

I haven't bought mine yet, have to check with the wife. But if you think this is good check this out Back in the 88 there was a game called Wasteland. Awesome game. Well, the makers of it finally are doing Wasteland 2. They needed funding. So they went to kickstarter.com http://www.kickstart...ile/wasteland-2 Check out the pledges on the right If a game like that can get that much, BT can get a lot more and especially over time. Maybe they can get enough to buy it all back from TOPPS.

I know....spent 130 USD on it...and about the same on Shadowrun Returns.

So far I think I've spent 350USD on three games that hasnt even been released. >_<

Im nuts arent I?

But it's the good kind of nuts! I'm was so P.O'd that I missed out on pledging for Wasteland 2. Few months go by without me looking in on my Yahoo group and this I miss....

Not a penny from me. I've been burned too many times to put money on a game without playing it first.

I'm glad they can get others to support them though, and I'm really excited to play this game!
