This topic is not about bragging rights or how much time of my life I have wasted grinding C-Bills. I was hoping to raise a discussion if we could have a feature which converts Mech XP to C-Bills?
From a income perspective I can assume that an additional 48000 C-Bills don't count quite a lot.
Lore-wise, I have no clue.
Discuss!

The only conversions that should be possible is already in the game -- Mech XP to GXP, costing MC (real money) to do it.

But the current system works that way already, you can only turn Mech XP into GXP but not the other way around, so what is wrong with turning Mech XP to Cbills?

Whats wrong is a free conversion from xp to cbills would discourage players from buying and using MC. In addition if it costed MC to convert xp to cbills it would be redundant to the purpose of MC where you can use the MC to buy mechs already.

But we already use MC to buy hero/champ/regular Mechs instead of spending hours grinding Cbills? MC would be unaffected since we use them on paint jobs, artillery, weapons, equipment, 'Mechs of both hero and champion quality. In my case it would only give me 1/4 of a PPC's worth of income.

Ah, but one cannot buy weapons and engines with MC. Especially those large XL engines which costs as much as a Heavy mech.

I propose that they allow the use of MC to buy xl engines. Anything else can easily be grinded for. 1mil cbills is nothing.

This is very intentional and supposed to make you feel like you're missing some of your potential, since if you don't pay, you will spend more time grinding efficiencies for other mechs. The more you play, the more of this potential you have in storage.
If you had any other use for that excess MXP, you wouldn't feel like it's going to waste and using MC for the conversion could feel even more wasteful instead, as you'd be losing both real and ingame money doing that.
Proper F2P monetization is balancing between factors that make you want to play more, that make you want to use real money to get as much out of your playing time as possible (without making the game feel like P2W), and that make you want to come back often, or you're missing out. This is one of the fields PGI is actually doing commendably well in.
While the proposed C-BIll conversion would of course be a nice thing to have for players (including myself), it would weaken the monetization of the game and thus won't happen.
Unless of course you meant that you'd want to use MC to convert MXP to C-Bills, in which case it could be possible, but doesn't really sound like that great a deal. >_>

I am not the only one here having a ton of XP stored in Mech's across all chassis types. Pardon me for saying this but -screw potential- I want money instead as I can use that for something rather then being forced to pay real life money for something which is not that important on the battlefield, given artillery ALSO cost c-bills.
Even a 1:2 conversion rate is preferred to being forced to pay.
I don't need XP, I need cash since I can't use all the XP I gather while playing my favourite 'Mechs.

Sorry, but this just boils down to another "I want more stuff for free" thread. I gave you some business reasons why things are the way they are, I'm not telling that you should like how it works. This is games business, not games charity.
I have collected 750,000 MXP on my most played mech. And I have 99 mechs total. And I don't convert MXP to GXP, I have enough GXP stored from playing to buy some efficiencies if I get really frustrated on some new mech. It's not like I don't understand why it would be nice if all that MXP didn't go to waste. >_>

PGI was 'nice' enough to allow you to still collect MXP, where as most games just stop xp collection once you hit the top. And on top of that you can convert it to GXP so it can be used still (of course at a small MC cost).

You can after today apparently. Someone found cbill bundles for MC in the game files. It's assumed to be part of the patch today.
