Its obvious guys. They had to break some things like turrets and Lrms. THis way, they can fix them again in the next patch so it actually looks like they are adding content.

I think just the visual impact is missing, but they will still do damage.

Does this mean you can shoot through them from the other side, or will damage only register once?
In other words, does the collision affect only the visual effect, or is it involved in the damage trace for the weapons? =)

You... don't pilot lights, do you? Light 'mechs are very small and can hide behind small objects, or shoot parallel to the ground at a pretty low level.

why would you do this? why would you disable the visual impact of ballistics and missiles? it doesn't make sense. I cannot brain this.

This is a known issue, which means it is a bug that they know about and have on a list to get fixed. They didn't "do" it for any reason - it happend as a result of either an error in coding or an unintended interaction with other systems.
