I guess some people will pay rather than spend time to earn cBills

If you want to fast track yourself then you pay the price

Don't see the problem here

There is actually quite a few people who value their time more than they value money. This let's them choose to spend some money to get rid of the endless and annoying grind you have to go through to buy new equipment.

I agree you don't get much C-bills for the money. It would be better spent on premium time over 90 days and just earning 50% more C-bills playing casually.

Actually it will be more of a price increase for mechs that are not of your faction when CW hits.

You only sell the atlas for half that so its actuall 1250cbills per mc.

Cheers,
BDA

LOL the worth of the atlas is MORE plus you are BUYING the atlas not buying it to sell it.

If you sell ANYTHING in this game you lose a lot of money so there is no point to selling anything.

way to make yourself look like you're not that bright there BDA

This is a natural extension. You can use MC to buy most things before. Now you can swap real $$ for C-Bills, buy the weapons you want for the Hero mech you bought with MCs. If you can afford the short cut, you can be running what you want, when you want. Pile in the XP to GXP swap and you have an elite mech with the right load-out day 1.

I hope there are lots of people out there that do this and help fund this great game. I have only spend MC to buy mech bays - PGI wont stay in business off my very limited spending.

At least one reason springs to mind, 4 mech bays. Another would be needing CBills to buy something else.

Why am I not happy about this?!? This takes away the grind for C-Bills! How is this fair for the Free2Play players in MWO when a paying player can just drop MCs for C-Bills? Overall, I'm happy about the changes and additions of Mech variants, but this... this is wrong from my perspective... but so was 3PV.

I'll just post this here to as to not have to retype this B.S.

Actually your point was that selling anything ever was a bad idea for everyone (at least that's how you phrased it).
I merely pointed out that there are people who don't want to spend real money on this game and therefore are limited in, for example, mech bays, wich makes selling stuff NOT a bad idea if you want to try something new.

There has never been a grind for c-bills in this game if you didn't want it. You could always make this conversion or something nearing this by buying mechs and selling them. This just codifies an exchange rate.

From all the money grabbing this company has been doing since day 1, I'm not surprised by this move. I knew it was only a matter of time. I've also been thinking that C-Bill rewards in matches needed a little buff. Apparently I wasn't the only one, except they came up with their own way of buffing C-Bill generation.

This isn't money grabbing. No one if forcing you to pay for any of this. This is a natural extension of the free-to-play model.

Paying for in-game content is supposed to be a convenience for players who have the funds to pay and don't have the time to grind. Not everyone can afford to play for hours just to get one XL350 engine or DDC. Selling expensive equipment isn't much of an efficient strategy in the long-term either.

This move gives you a choice. That is all.

You could always buy mechs with MC and sell for C-bills before, but this just straight up transitions the game into total pay to win.
Whatever.
You still can't buy GXP or specific mech XP so I'm fine with it.

I'm not even sure what to think of this. I get the need to create an influx of cash, but the money vs time conversion rate is all over hell's half acre.

Can't you spend about 4,195 MC on a AS7-D-DC (10,486,012 c-bills)? If 4000 MC gets you around 10 million C-Bills worth of Mech shouldn't it get you around 10 million C-bills worth of other stuff as well?

If equipment is so much more valuable than the mechs then up the price of the equipment so we can establish a money vs time conversion rate that allows us to make informed decisions. I get the more money than time aspect, hell, I fall into the category (barely).

This doesn't encourage me to spend more money.
