Does anyone have a chart that shows how much damage weapon x does at y range. I want to know how much damage is done when shooting past optimal range to max range.

If I remember correctly, there is a linear damage reduction applied after the listed range of a weapon; the amount of damage decrease will depend on the max range a projectile can travel.
Ex: The medium laser has a listed range of 270m but its max range is 540m (2x distance). A medium laser does 5 damage out to 270m and then will lose effective damage until it does none at 540m. Going from 5-0 damage over the distance of 270m tells me that you will lose 1 point of damage every 54m. Sub-divide further for more precise damage/distance numbers.

You can look at Smurfy to get the values and then build a mech with the weapons and click on weapon lab to get a graph. But yeah it is a linear drop off with
Energy weapons doing damage up to 2x except flamers which have no extended range,
missles have no drop off it is all or nothing,
ballistics are 3x except for mg and now AC2 which do damage up to 2x range and I don't recall seeing it in the patch notes but Smurfy says the AC5 is now 2.74x (unless it was always like that).

???
They actually did that? I thought it was a joke because they didn't mention shortening all the AC's. And AC2 shorter than AC5? lol
Nice going PGI, determined to do everything wrong

Yep, they also dropped its dps by quite a bit.
Oh and I forgot to mention theres a graph for weapon damage ranges right in the mechlab, just mouse over the weapon and it pops up on the right. Op probably already knows that and wants a different graph or something but figured I would mention it just in case.
- Cooldown increased to 0.669 (up from 0.520) bringing DPS to 2.99
- Max range falloff reduced to 1440 (down from 2160).

Take the damage of the weapon and then divide it by the end of the optimum range ( and then divide that by 2 for ballistics). That is the drop off once you exceed your optimum range.
In other words, the Lrg Laser does 9 damage over 450m. That means you'd lose 0.02 per meter from 451-900m. The AC10 does 10 damage over 450m which means that it would lose 0.011 damage per meter from 451-1350m.

Ohmwrecker used to have a great chart. Sadly, like many, he left the game a long time ago.
